Hopkins has been owning the spotlight for some time now.

Calzaghe was being criticised for fighting a shot Roy Jones Jr, Hopkins was being praised for schooling undefeated Middleweight Champion slash Knockout Artist Kelly Pavlik, the man that beat the man that "beat" Hopkins a few years back.

And at that time Calzaghe was still around, but still BHop was given more credit for over coming the odds, something which Calzaghe could have done by taking on Pavlik and Dawson but Calzaghe didnt have the courage.

b hop is owning the spotlight cause he is a legend and is still gonna be ranked higher than calzaghe. must be rough for calzaghe fans to understand this especially since he has all of what 2 quality wins lol. dont worry ward will take his spot as well soon.

The list posted at the start of the thread emphasising his greatness is so dismal upon first viewing. It certainly doesn't do his actual ability much justice, most of the opposition are either past-its or never-was type opponents, with the exception of a narrow win over Hopkins and a solid win over Kessler, who failed to go on to bigger and better things. Its not a good look for Joe seeing it laid out like that in a mediocre looking list.

Ward and Bute schools Calzaghe. Joe doesnt deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence.

:patsch. All Ward has been doing is fighting Calzaghe left overs and Bute nearly got KOd by Andrade.
You obviously didnt see a prime Calzaghe which was before he fought Lacy.
Those 2 havent got a resume even close to Calzaghes who even past his prime was showing the way to beat all these other fighters like Bika, so that they could have a game plan and the nerve to try themselves afterwards

The Bika fight is not one the Joe's best fights... He sure didn't show the intelligent way to beat him. Strange example.

Its hard to count the win over rjj as anything at all, jones was over the hill and nearly all the way down, calzaghes career was decent, not as good as it could have been, he should have fought dawson before he hung up the gloves imo

Calzaghe is on Froch level. Good fighter but not yet great. The difference between Froch and Calzaghe? Froch has balls, Calzaghe not so much.

Calzaghe called Roy Jones a shot fighter in his autobiography only to fight him a year or two later as his last legacy fight. Calzaghe has small balls and like sniffing the coke.

Another difference between Froch and calzaghe is that Joe has a win over Kessler while froch's record displays an L.

Joe Calzaghe's legacy is always based on speculation and HYPE. Too bad the king of the bums ran aways and retired rather than risk not receiving biased decisions by biased judges and one day having to actually fight to win/lose. The Bum king ran from Kelly Pavlik rather than fight him. Look at the Bum king now sucking on a stem pipe sucking in crack while the real champions are still out here fighting and adding to their legacies. Calzaghe will always be < Hopkins, and will always be considered, the Welsh King Of The Bums.:lol:
