It wasnt just the M theory we discussed, your memory is clearly blinkered, and it is you my friend who is on the high horse , pointing out that a Forum would be better without any British insight. To say any one Nation would be better not to be included in a sporting arena is just plain ignorant.

You were schooled clearly in the subject of boxing and I then needed to take the discussion to other subjects, which you did indeed back up.

I really feel sorry for you that everytime somebody doesnt agree with your points , you then have to make it bitter and personal.

    The end.

    Sigh.

I see you are taking this personally. Very personally. I'd actually say you are acting butt-hurt.

Facts are facts. This forum would be better off without British posters. In the best possible world, the good British posters would remain and the bad ones would leave. Of course, it would be better is the good posters of any nationality stayed and the bad ones left. However, there are no other nations where the board, overall, would be improved if they all left; where the positive impact made by the good posters is totally undone by the negative impact of the bad posters. (In the case of the good Brit posters, their work is undone many times over by the bad ones)

That's a pretty shocking fact. I wish it wasn't true. Do I seem happy about it? No.

But getting pissed off at me for pointing out this fact is useless. Trying to re-write history is also a damned bizarre reaction. If you don't like how bad the impact of the Brit posters is, then tell the bad ones to STFU. Don't shoot the messenger.

Actually, I do have another solution. You can try to be the most awesome poster you can. Be a great Brit poster, and help restore the battered image that Brit posters have. You have been a bit of a dick at times, but I think if you made an effort you could do your bit to help the situation. Of course, if you don't want to be a good poster, and if you don't like people pointing out how bad the average Brit poster is, then you can always choose the "dick" option. That will take less effort.

So sick of these ****ing alphabet belts.

When did Ring Magazine crowd Vlad? Has he ever slipped from the position? I'd like to know the same with his brother. This matters a **** ton more than trying to figure out these alphabets. I don't even know where to begin with that ****.

These guys might have the semantic records, but the respect goes to the greats who were undisputed kings of great eras.

The Ring Magazine crowned Wlad when he wins his fight against Chagaev in 2009! Chagaev was on 3 while Wlad was No. 1 for a long time.

Interesting, didn't think it was that late.

He lost to Brewster in 2004, didn't beat him until 2007...that has to matter. I personally don't like to call the man "THE man" until he has bested the last person to beat him.

At some point that becomes redundant. When Wlad beat Brewster, there was a big "so what" attached to it.

A lot of people felt it was somehow necessary. I guess it showed that Wlad had improved a lot, but we all knew that anyway. How much had Brewster faded as well?

If you immediately beat a guy who just beat you, then you can show that it was just an off-night or something. You can prove that you are better than the defeat may have made people think. But Wlad's losses weren't an off night, it was just his ability as a fighter was lacking.

Let's look at a couple of different fighters. Pacman, Lewis, Wlad and Tszyu.
Pacman, like Wlad, were beaten earlier in their careers. Immediate rematches for either of these guys may have meant just losing again. New trainer, work hard, and years later you are at the top of the game, having improved out of sight. At which point, the people who defeated you are after-thoughts, and fighting them would make no sense. Pac didn't do the rematches, Wlad fought once - and i found it meaningless.
Kostya lost to Vince Phillips. He, like Wlad and Pac, also went on to greatness. However, people still put a huge question mark over his head, because he never really outgrew that defeat. As shown when Hatton beat him, it was a stylistic weakness.
Lewis did it very differently. He got beaten, then immediately kicked the ass of those who beat him. This didn't just happen once. So he showed that he didn't outgrow his opponents, he was already better - but he also showed a flaw of his own. He could lose focus, then get KTFO by guys who weren't really fit to carry his jockstrap.

4 different guys, 4 great fighters. In each case, the rematch or lack of one had very different meanings. Lewis's proved his greatness, but also his flaw. Wlad's proved his growth. Pac's lack of rematches hasn't affected his legacy, but Kostya's lack did.

So Wlad's lack of rematches mean little to me. Immediate rematches may have meant immediate losses again. That was the level he was at. There aren't any real arguments that he is more like his prime now, and that is generally how fighters are judged historically.

Forums are all about opinions, you have yours, I have mine and others have theirs!

Some are more informed than others but none are more valid than the next or the last, only a coceited ******* would think differently.

For the record I have no problem with either Wlad or Vitali, I think they generaly conduct themselves in a superb manner which can't be said of too many others in a sport proliferated over the years by muggers, rapists, robbers and addicts.

They are GOOD boxers allbeit angeringly frustrating to watch.

Ali was 36 at that point and had already seen the on set of Parkinsons. Ali then won in an immediate remtach.

Did Wlad take the rematch clause against against Sanders?

  13. the great difference is that ali fought much better rivals.

The ratio between good/bad British posters is no different to any other nationality. In fact, it's pretty obvious that the worst posters on this site are usually Americans. And that many of the German posters are blatant, blinkered apologists for their shitty, sheltered, so-called "champions."
