I think your over stating the importance of Pascal backnig away from Hopkins. Pascal naturally wants fighters to pursue him. Hopkins having to press forward is no suprise. Apparently according to punch stats hopkins was more accurate and affective. But that is amateur score and bouts aren't scored on amateur scoring. With the acception of the body shots I didn't think many of hopkin's punches were that affective, where as many of pascal's were. The rounds where hopkin's did land good punches he clearly won. But the rounds where he didn't I saw most of his punches landing on Pascal's gloves or landing short. It was a close fight. The idea that because some guy is coming forward and poping punches off a guys gloves he should be given the round is kinda rediculous.

Hopkins was chasing around Pascal but he couldnt connect clearly most of the shots were in the gloves of Pascal and Pascal landed some hooks inside and he is the champ... Lets face it, the champ always have the edge on very close rounds

  3. try scoring it with a brain in your head. i had it 115 111 for hopkins. one could argue 114 112 for hopkins but anything else is uncivilized.

While I don't see the draw as outrageous, I see it beneficial toward Pascal and detrimental to Hopkins. To me, aside from the KD's Hopkins outperformed Pascal for the vast majority of the fight. Pascal basically did nothing but throw 1 shot at a time, and land the odd shot here and there. But, the KD's count and Pascal did just enough that someone could give him a few rounds after. I did not.

I don't think whether someone is the champ should impact a judge's decision. If it did that night, then I can see why Pascal got the draw. To me a draw was borderline best case scenario for him. It was at least on the high end of the scoring swing.

Round 1 should be 10-9 to Pascal.

Scoring it 10-8 penalises Bernard 3 points, because he was winning the round 10-9 himself.

The only rounds after the 3rd you can possibly give Pascal are 5, 8, and 12. Otherwise, you are still on drugs.

Such irony to see so many people claim that a round where Pascal put Hopkins on the floor should be a 10-9 round, instead of 10-8.

In my book that's being totally biased about this fight. Hopkins wasn't dominating the first 3 rounds at all. Pascal easily landed the better shots in all of those first 3 rounds and that's what separated them as far as scoring those rounds.

Hopkins would have had to put combinations after combinations together landing clean in order to make it a 10-9 round in the first... He wasn't doing anyhwere as much as some of you claim...

Using your same logic for Hopkins, then no way did Mosley win the 2nd round against Mayweather... but wait...everyone was so quick to dismiss the fact that Mayweather dominated like 2:30 of that round, landing crisp counters...

Fact is Hopkins was down on the score cards 30-25 after 3 rounds.

so you gave every single close round to Pascal and one round (9) in which Hopkins landed (compubox) 15 to Pascal's 8 punches?

not a very good scorecard unless you follow the "tie goes to the champ" rule.

The American judge gave the fourth and tenth rounds to Pascal. FAIL.
