Marquez has shown this year thathe still has enough in him to compete at the toplevel of the game, unlike his fellow mexicans barrera and morales and manny pacquiao he is seen in the eyes of many not as a atg but more as a hof. what does he have to do at this point to be considered a atg.
In my opinion he nearly is already, only thing that works against him is that he didnt have a official win over the pacman.
A win vs khan/pacquiao at this point would seal it. I guess a fight vs morales is finally happening this year but it has little meaning now. I would like to see him fight soto at 135 or the winner of bradley/alexander vs khan at 140.
I also think it is possible bob will make pac fight marquez in november at 147.

Get a signature win. That is all. That could include beating any of the top 140lbs fighters.

It is indeed, and she sealed ATG status a long time ago.

he has plenty of opportunities to enhance his legacy at LW or 140lbs. in the meantime he should fight Soto, Rios or Vasquez in mexico city, dallas, or LA.

I would love to see Marquez vs Rios. That'd actually be a PPV worth paying for...twice over.

Not get knocked down!! or officially it woulda been 2-0 VS Pacman. Then Pacman wouldnt be the praised Pacman now.

Honestly Rios isn't really ready for the dude. If i'm honest I'm not 100% sold on him beating Acosta in February let alone JMM. He should fight Vasquez after Acosta, Marquez should fight Soto next, and the winners fight each other.

Rios will take Acosta apart in February, make no mistake about that. I think Rios beats Soto at this point, also, so I'm not sure why you're advocate of that potential match up. Rios vs Soto, and the winner can take on Marquez. That'd be an ideal scenario.

Don't be so sure. Acosta is great hitter, watch him annihilate Antillon with a single punch and you'll see what i'm talking about. He also has solid skills and always comes in great shape.I'm curious to see how Rios will react to the guys power. I favor Rios, but his victory is no guarantee.

I want Rios-Vasquez because I think that it would be great experience for both guys, regardless of who the eventual winner would be. I want Marquez-Soto because it would be a good bout for Marquez to take considering he has no opponent and Rios has a fight coming up soon, Mexico would love it, and it would unify a lot of belts.

Marquez beats Soto easily. I'm not excited about that fight.

Marquez's record is very good already, perceptions will improve with time. I hope he stays at 135 and continues to defend the championship he captured off Casamayor.

It'll be a good money fight for both, Marquez won't have to get his head smacked about in a war, and it's a title. I'd watch it.

    I have a proposed 135 tourney

    1) Acosta vs. Rios
    2) Murray vs. Vazquez
    3) Soto vs. Antillion II
    4) JMM vs. Gurrero

    5) 1 vs 2
    6) 3 vs 4

    7) 5 vs 6
