The Fact that you are trying to call me out over a thread that was made over 16 Months (August 2009) Ago about a fighter that Had not hit the "Big-Stage" yet...is just comical. True enough Matinez has definitely Proved He belongs. And as for your Andre Berto reference...Berto was the first to sign to Fight Mosley LONG before Mayweather and Pacquiao did...and also stated that he wanted to fight Pacquiao...TWICE, and just told Arum that he is available and willing to fight Cotto in March...but they decided to fight THAT ELITE-LEVEL PRIME FIGHTER RICARDO MAYORGA. But you think I should hate on Berto because he hasn''t called out Cintron?

This is so true !! Too many Americans forget how tough it is sometimes for foreign fighters to get the recognition and legitimate opportunities that other well promoted American boxers get...

Maravilla is a great example of that ! Foreign fighters get stuck fighting ordinary guys to stay busy but with often a little budget available to get the quality opponents desired..

    Better than pulling a mayweather!!!lol!

He started late w/ no boxing background, he could use the rounds. Hes decisively beat Pavlik, Cintron and PW, thats pretty good.

    Darryl,

The same people who are poking fun at this thread now, should take a look at their own comments on the Pacquiao-related threads during the time he beat a shot weight-drained Oscar De La Hoya. They all scoffed at the thought of Pacquiao even being mentioned as an opponent for the likes of Cotto and Margarito, let alone beat them!

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I do not laugh at someone who came up after a long hard
work, This means that the man came up from scratches,
a nobody fighting unknowns and beating them is pure
hard work and given a chance to prove himself., He delivers
The late Valero also was fighting unknowns yet his feat is very impressive and his knockout ratio is indeed very high.
What matters now is that Martinez is on top of his game
and brave enough to face anybody.:patsch

You were willing to **** on Martinez for his resume, but Berto gets a pass because he TALKS about fighting guys? Doesn't matter that he hasn't stepped into the ring with them? In that case, I guess Hamed has the best resume going right now, because he keeps talking about getting back in the ring at 230 lbs.

ko'ing one of the most avoided boxer in the world who is about 6'3 tall and has one of longest reaches in boxing

winning barely every rd vs pavlik

holding is own vs cintron & margarito

being now in the shape of his life and without a doubt #1 mid. in the world

does that all sound overrated too you?
