Super close would be pushing it, Marquez by 3 for me.

As for the first fight, that was as close as Hopkins/Pascal, meaning it wasnt all that close with JMM being the Hopkins of that fight.

Those performances are enough to secure him anyway, and because so many people saw him as the winner in either one or both.

I had 1 113-112 for pac and 2 115-112 for pac. But who does he have to beat now in his carreer so that everyone is convinced he is a atg?

Unfair comment. Both fights were close, and all he did was give you his scorecards and then pressed you to address the thread question.

    I don't think this kid is a *******.

At this stage i think its unfair to Marquez(now at almost 38 ) to HAVE to prove it by beating anyone, i think he already proved it.

We saw how good he was at 126/130

135 is the biggest weight he could operate at without it diminishing him much, he's already proved he is the best their even past his best.

Only lost to PBF (@147) in recent years for me, one of his defeats was his first ever fight by DQ aswell.

Not so sure about that. Acosta has proven himself to be very competent against undefeated fighters which is something of a good omen. He's got power in both hands and finds some decent angles on his punches and moves reasonably well, enough to keep Rios off-set and stop himself setting himself.

He dealt with Antillon far easier than Soto did, and I'm not convinced Rios would beat Soto at all, despite the fact he hasn't impressed me so far at 135. Rios has a long way to go before he convinces me he's the real deal. Who has he really beaten? Jose Teron was poor; Peterson was highly-rated for the division but untested himself. Lest we forget Rios was getting out-boxed early by Omri Lowther.

You do realise by discrediting Marquez you are discrediting one of the better opponents Pacquiao has ever faced?

    I was being overzealous.

It would certainly seem that Acosta is the best opponent of Rios' young career.

I would expect Rios to defeat Soto at 135lbs. Zorrita seems to tire as the fight goes on, and often falls into lulls where he lets the opponent dictate the action. This would not be of benefit against a pit bull like Rios, who typically gets better as the rounds pass, as was evidenced in his less than impressive performance against Omri Lowther.

Brandon Rios is just a very slow starter, reminiscent of a Michael Spinks or a Joe Frazier. It was common practice for Spinks to lose the opening rounds against subpar opposition. Jim Macdonald and David Sears, 16 fight novices, both made Spinks look ordinary early on, but both suffered the same fate.

Omri Lowther may have gained some confidence over those opening rounds, but he ultimately copped a beating.

    JMM Pac II

JMM already past his prime against 30 yo Pac, didnt help Pac much.

When will Pac fight someone who hasnt already been broken in there previous couple fights and stop making them get down to weights they shouldnt be at anymore?

PBF beats him easily (if the ****ing fight ever happens)

He may have done enough already. His losses against Pac and John are debatable and if YOU think he won them then surely that pushes him to ATG?

**** the consensus. The consensus doesn't always account for unjust decisions or robberies.

    Fair comments.

I go by the judges verdict if I think the fight is closely contested and debatable, which I think the Pacquiao/Marquez fights were.

I'm a BIG Pac fan but in my eyes Marquez is very close 1-0-1 against Manny.

That doesn't bring Pac down in my estimation, but it brings JMM up massively.
