I'm not sure, but if it is 50, than it is close for marquez, even so I voted him for an ATG but he is 100 % amongs the 70 best boxer ever!!!
I never knew there was a number on it, I thought it was just opinions on who was an ATG and how many ATGs there were.
there is no number on how many atg there can be, that would be silly, if you have a top something thats possible of course.
no hof is more for quality fighters atg is for absolute legends of the game, from the active fighters I consider pac, floyd, holy, morales, jones, hopkins, barrera atg, a lot of fighters are hof but only a few are atg, For the moment i see klits, marquez, mosley for example as hof but not yet atg.
is he one of the top 50 fighters ever (that seems to be the number according to this thread) no , is he better than a lot of the un worthy fighters in the hof yes
How many ATG fighters fit on the head of a pin? It's gotta suck getting enshrined for eternity in the HOF and then finding out on some boxing forum that you're only a very good fighter, not an ATG. A lifetime of hard work and some guy on ESB can take all the glory away from you with a few strokes on the keyboard.
hof is full to the brim of very good fighters , were talking the next level , were jumping from mike tyson to ali in terms of levels
Yes. With a win over Barrera, his continuous desire to challenge and beat dangerous opponents, along with the wars with Pacquiao...I give JMM the nod. Nobody in this era has done a better job against a seasoned Pac than JMM. Morales achieved a decisive win but...we all know what happened after that. JMM has won more rounds than Pac and that speaks volumes. Hell, in it's nearly an impossible feat to win at least two rounds against the Filipino. JMM should slowly work his way up to 140. Maybe eat 2 appetizers. By the time he's gotten comfortable in that class, he could be ready for Khan or whomever the top dog is at 140. In many people's eyes, I'm sure, a win for JMM would seal the deal for his place in the ATG list.
