There are at least 3 welters in history that would make little floyd look like a poisoned puppy. Robinson, Leonard, and Hearns.

At 160, well -- floyd would have to get his "urge" back, and beat a few great middleweights before I would compare him to SRR at that weight.

I second this. I honestly don't see anything that special.

Mayweather best weight is 130. Robinson and Leonard would be to big for Floyd. I have a question though. From a technical stand point, who is more skilled out of mayweather and robinson?

Size is a factor but the diffrance is not as great as it might seem. Mayweather started of at 130 at age 19 Robinson started off at 135 at the age of 19 as well.
Robinson was 5′ 11″ while Mayweather is 5′ 8″. Robinson has a clear advantage. However when it comes to reach Mayweather has long arms for someone his height 72″, while Robinson had a reach of 72½″.
I'm not trying to compare Oscar De La Hoya to Ray Robinson but De La Hoya is about the same size as Robinson. While De La Hoya was not at his best he was still very good. Mayweather would have beaten in his prime as well.
During their fight Mayweather was able to get to De La Hoya in large part because De La Hoya abonand his jab. There is no reason to think that if Robinson were to forgo his jab that Mayweather would not be able to get to him as well.

I would say Mayweather by far. Robinson was the better athlete and more killer instinct by far.

I second that. The best of both worlds. SRL, Hearns, and Haglar would be FEASTING today! I still think that FMJ, Pac, and a few others could still hang but a few of them would be on the losing in of classic fights.

Funny I wrote the same post, but he had so many other deep elements I thought that my post would be like, "what is he quoting for?"

Mayweather is actually tall and has a long reach too. He should have no problem making 160 or even 175 because he's 5ft8 with a 72 inch reach. He has the reach of Arthur Abraham. At 5ft8 his max weight would be 175.

Whether he can take a punch at that weight, or maintain his speed and power is another question. But I don't think we can say Floyd Mayweather Jr is a little guy anymore or small for his weight.

I guess you can say that. But when mayweather was in his prime at 147 he looked like a junior welter fighting at 147. When he came back he filled out more. Also compared to robinson and leonard, he is kinda small.

Did you seriously just suggest Mayweather could go to 175? You mention him having the same reach as Abraham, and we just saw how far that got Arthur against a tall 168er, that's why hes moving down to 160. And now I'm supposed to take your opinions on SRR seriously?

Hey are you a mayweather hater? It seems like you can't stand mayweather. I'm just asking, no disrespect.

No he is just a general idiot who doesn't know anything about boxing.

In his mind, Mayweather isn't a technical Pure Boxer. Now waist punching arm cocking SRR? Now that was SKILLS!

GT is a *******. The first thread I saw by him was shitting on the Mosley win right after it happened.
