ur having a laugh! mayweather the one who took a missile from mosley and still stood the only guy never to get knocked down!
I wonder if Greb's chin was as great as is claimed? (Before anyone gets crazy from a statement like that, let me explain) Greb was known to have great reflexes (ala RJJ) yes? Its possible he was never hit cleanly, therefore not having his chin tested. OF course without film you can't go anything except fight reports and while I rate Greb no.1/2 I'm not the best authority on him and his fights so I dont know much about how much punishment he took, its just a thought.
I've posted that video myself, and it's not to prove Lewis had an iron chin, because I don't think he did. I've posted it to prove that it's solid and not weak like some people claim.
If we're talking officially, he was officially down against Hernandez, even though he landed a punch, hurt his hand and ending up touching down on the canvas with it for a second. If we're talking unofficially, he was down against Judah.
What's interesting in this thread is how many clueless posts are being made that verify how little many here know ...
Sorry mate. I saw the comment and quoted it and didn't realise I quoted yours, was directed towards him.
the chin of marciano is absolutely overrated, punchers like liston,foreman,baer.. would put him in the floor FOR THE ACCOUNT for sure. evander holyfield HAD ****ING IRON CHIN!!!! THIS MAN WAS A NATURAL CRUISER OR EVEN LHW AND HE FACED GIANTS!!! AND HE TOOK GREAT SHOTS!!!!, A SHOT HOLYFIELD TOOK EVERY SHOT FROM LEWIS , TYSON WAS DESTROYED BY LEWIS. THE CHIN OF JOE FRAZIER IS ABSOLUTELY UNDERRATED, FOREMAN COULD NOT KO HIM FOR THE ACCOUNT,he GOT UP 100 TIMES , TYSON WOULD HAVE BEEN KO IN THE FIRST KNOCK DOWN, I AM PRETTY SURE . FRAZIER WAS DOWN BY 2 VERY STRONG MEN LIKE BONAVENA AND FOREMAN. ALI WAS DOWN BY KIDS LIKE COOPER OR BANKS.AND STILL HE HAD IRON CHIN. KNOCK DOWN IS NOT KNOCK OUT. THE CHIN OF LARRY HOLMES IS ABSOLUTELY OVERRATED. THE CHIN OF TYSON IS OVERRATED TOO, HE HAD A DECENT CHIN, BUT DEFINITELY NOT IRON CHIN, HE WAS HURT BY BRUNO,TUCKER, PAST PRIME HOLYFIELD,DOUGLAS,PAST PRIME LEWIS,MCBRIDE,WILLIAMS. i am waiting for the excuses from the tyson fans...
about lewis.. o yes iron chin , he was ko by mccall and rahman(not great punchers) (and it was by clean shots not because he was tired), he looked like a drunk against frank bruno. lewis never had good chin. it was his only weak point
Hi **FOREMAN HOOK** :hi:. Rahman and McCall were very decent punchers indeed, particularly the former. McCall clocked him pre-prime, and he wasn't KO'd. He was TKO'd. He got up. He was in noway in prime condition for the Rahman fight as he'd spent most of his training camp pissing about filming Ocean's Eleven and came in at a then-career high weight. Frank Bruno was an extremely hard puncher, if he got hurt against Bruno, it's not unexpected. Bruno evidently for me had McCall stunned with a right-hand in round 1. Lewis went in with plenty of punchers throughout his career, and took shots from Bruno, Tua, Briggs, Vitali [a harder puncher at that time then nowadays], Morrison, Ruddock amongst others. His chin was not iron, he was capable of being stunned, knocked down or even out with a perfectly placed punch. But then most were at heavyweight, it only takes one great right hand from a 240lb super-heavyweight to lay you out. Lewis proved with some of the other punches he took throughout his career that his chin was solid enough.
Everyone's chin is overrated, the right punch from the right angle on the right spot, LIGHTS OUT - see Robinson-Fullmer. People with 'great chins' tend to keep their chin tucked into their chest, have strong necks/legs that stop their neck snapping back
