Zaggers would splice and dice that roly poly, potty-mouthed indecipherable clown to a wide unanimous decision.:deal

James Toney = PED-munching disgrace who should be perma-banned from boxing. :dead:dead:dead

Calzaghe also doesn't have a good defence or head movement, nor does he have good punch power or accuracy. This = defeat vs a fighter as skilled as prime Toney.

Calzaghe has an excellent defence when he wants to, his head movement is also exceptional at times. His power and accuracy is also underrated.

He completely took away Roy Jones' right hand in their fight in the mid rounds, even an old Roy Jones throws lightning quick punches.

Calzaghe doesn't just come in, he has a rhythm kinda like Pacquiao does although he clearly doesn't bounce as much on his toes. It makes him harder to hit.

 You didn't really just post a video of the farce between Calzaghe and the fossilized remains of Roy Jones as evidence of Calzaghe's strengths, did you?

Anyway, I have just read your "I just watched 2 hours of Calzaghe" thread, I'm not too interested in discussing much with yourself, no offence, as you clearly don't have much of a grasp of what effective defence or head movement actually are, and I don't have the time to educate you on these subjects. :good

You do realise it was a joke?

Oh right, I see, you said Calzaghe was the greatest fighter ever, but really you didn't mean that, I get it now, I'm just not used to that high level of sophisticated "irony", it's a little too subtle and multi-layered for me.

And your post containing videos still shows that you do not have a very good understanding of effective defence or head movement.

How did Calzaghe adapt when he was coming forward against Reid and getting countered?

He didnt adapt he just continued coming forward and lost the majority of the last rounds.

Same thing vs Eubank, in the championship rounds he was being tagged hard.

Calzaghe is and always was a mid range slugger/slapper who didnt outbox, but outworked his opponents due to his great work rate.

Calzaghe was 24 vs Eubank in his first title fight, in comparison James DeGale is 24 now. You can't say that Calzaghe back then was in his prime, the adaptability came later on.

Calzaghe injured his left hand in the Reid fight.

Calzaghe had one advantage over his opposition and that was work rate, and he utilised it well.

He set a pace that was difficult to match by his opposition. But when matched with people who were able to disrupt the pace set.

Like Hopkins, and Reid, he didnt adapt he just continued to do what he did in round 1 and that was to land pitty patter slaps as in a high volume in order to outwork his opponents.

What was the adaptability shown here? none

99% of Frank Warren's fighters are blatant duckers and all they do is fight Warren's stable of dock workers and cab drivers their entire career's.

Calzaghe pulled out of a fight with titlist Glen Johson in 04, he ducked Roy Jones Jr in the early 2000s. Not to mention he fought 40yr old Roy Jones and then retired instead of fighting anyone who would beat him.

Kessler is his only win against a solid guy in his prime, I wasnt aware Kessler was an ATG?

He did, albeit very late in the fight.

Hopkins was missing the straight right a lot in the later rounds

Toney was at his best here. Calzaghe was a force, but Toney was much more accurate and it would resemble something like the Tarver-Johnson fights, one win apiece. Too close to call.
