The guy's defence is so good he rarely gets hit flush with big shots which gives the illusion of a great chin, but whenever someone connects with a big shot his legs turn to spaghetti (see Corley, Mosley), he does not have a great chin at all. If his defence was weaker or if his defensive abilities ever decline or if ever gets too brave, the guy will be in grave danger.

Also, do you seriously think he is the only fighter to never be properly knocked down? :huh

  5. realy you are not very intelligent because foreman hook is a fan of lewis. and lewis is not exactly my idol, if you check some post i disagree with him in several topics. i am a foreman fan and he too, it is all.:deal any person with brain on this forum know that i am not foreman hook. (tommygun711, or reznick). because i did enter on this forum because i did read the comments of tommy (my friend on youtube), then i liked this forum. i never found a spanish forum about classic boxing anyway, if you are happy when you think it.... fine

Marciano was down only twice - Walcott 1st fight and against Moore. Both very good punchers, and they managed to keep him down for a combined time of about six seconds.

Agree with this post. Some of the recent revisionism claiming that Rocky's chin wasn't that great is utterly ridiculous to me. There seems to be a body of fans that will do apparently anything to discredit Marciano. Claiming he didn't have a great chin in order to discredit him smacks of desperation to me.

Not Joe Frazier. Only floored by Bonavena (very early in career) and Foreman.

i've seen holyfield talked about here and in all fairness he was almost always the smaller man fighting at heavyweight with huge punchers. he has an all-time great chin.

Marciano had a whopping 49 fights, so his chin was hardly as proven as the likes of Grebs, Jack Brittons, Gavilans, Billy Grahams.

49 fights is an astounding small number of match-ups for a career that took place in Marciano's timeframe as an active fighter. There's absolutely no way you can peg it as proven as the likes of fighters who were never knocked down with 2, 3 or even 4 times as many fights.

A prime Frazier was only knocked down by Foreman. Frazier said the key to being able to take a punch was his awesome conditioning, which he had let up on by the time he fought Foreman, though it's unlikely that he could have ever taken a Foreman uppercut on the chin while charging full steam ahead without hitting the canvas (as is the case with 99% of boxers). He took Bonavena's best punches with a smile during their rematch.

Why is it as soon as the words 'overrated' or 'exposed' are mentioned in a thread, a few ******s pop up and talk absolute shite?
