Because all the Irish and the majority of Americans will vote for the UK. We are probably outnumbered on here by the Irish anyway, not that I particularly rate being English, nor particularly rate any English fighters with a bias.
Lee or even Dzinzurik are much more credible opponents than Mayorga. You must be a hardcore Cotto fan because there is no way they are even on the same level. At least Lee and Dzinsurik have the hunger and youth on their side. Mayorga is washed up and is there to take a beating. Come on who honestly thinks he beats Cotto? I really dont think Berto will be fighting any more punks. People are starting to be too vocal about it. I really hope not.
I love Cotto but this is a no brainer....a good free fight on HBO and Andy Lee can bang. I remember not long ago when everyone was ready to declare lee the greatest.
Of course Dzinziruk is more credible than Mayorga. Which is precisely why I stated I'd view Martinez-Dzinziruk prior to Cotto-Mayorga if they end up going head to head. However, Andy Lee doesn't even belong in the same breath as Dzinziruk let alone Martinez. And yes I am a hardcore Cotto fan, but an even bigger fan of the sport of Boxing itself. Which is exactly why I'm aware of Martinez-Lee being no bigger mismatch than Cotto-Mayorga. The credibility Lee earned went right out the window when he was TKO'd by Brian Vera. Yeah, Mayorga is washed up and Lee is a never was who got stopped by a club fighter. So there isn't much seperating the two. You say Lee has hunger on side, but that didn't seem to be the case when I when I watched a few of his listless performances against journeymen in Ireland on the RTE web site. True enough, not many here will pick Mayorga to beat Cotto. But I bet even less would pick Andy Lee over Sergio Martinez. Dzinziruk is a quality fighter, which I why I don't mind the Martinez fight at all. But youth is one thing he doesn't have on his side, the man is nearly 35 years old. That remains to be seen.
Im gonna have to disagree with you on Andy Lee. He has physical advantages and skills to go with it. I think Lee gives Sergio quite the fight and like i said a possible upset. I think the Vera fight was a fluke and not to mention his only loss. he has gone undefeated since then.
Martinez and its not even close...Cotto-Mayorga being on PPV is a ****ing joke. And if i know the Bobfather, the undercard will be complete and utter **** like all his PPV fights. **** that peice of **** Arum.
