Just spent 2 hours watching Joe Calzaghe

Calzaghe is a fantastic, underappreciated fighter and I enjoy watching all of his fights*

*Except Hopkins.

 

WOW.

I saw him fight once against Lacy and Jones

I was impressed against Lacey not his style
but impressed he won Lacy is a hard hitter but couldnt find him

Jones fight I can tell if Jones was in his Prime he would win

Slappy is a very good fighter not because he beat lacey but because Lacy in his porime and couldnt land

wish I could see more of slappy

 

He's solid but Mayweather is far better.

Normally I overlook such threads. But after reading that you watched TWO HOURS of fight footage i am fully convinced that he is the GOAT.

 

After watching 10 minutes of Joe Calzaghe, I fell asleep and had nightmare about a Welsh ***** scratching my eyes and biting me on the nuts.

 

Only on ESB could someone say this and then not understand why.

There's 2.25 hours of entertaining boxing right there, and that's not even mentioning all the fun beatdowns he handed out on his way to his first title...

Most people form their judgments based on:

Calzaghe/Manfredo
Calzaghe/Bika
Calzaghe/Hopkins
Calzaghe/Jones

Doing so provides a poor picture of Calzaghe's style, and those 4 fights are truly awful. (I liked the Bika fight, but I also enjoy watching Andre Ward so that tells you something about me lol.)

 

Any decent Light MW could move up and annihilate the slapmeister.

I bet guys like Gatti and Hatton could whoop him.

Slaps had two things going for him. Compubox and hometown judges and refs.

In the reality of things, anyone with similar handspeed and the power of a kitten stops him. EARLY!
