I'm surprised there hasn't been much talk of this considering the jawing each are doing over at btalk.

As it is, Berto feels Cintron is beneath him and therefore doesn't even feel the need to dignify the situation with a serious response. Berto is being called out by someone who would be the best name on his resume, and yet Berto seems to think he's some major player on HBO because he's hand fed easy fights for big money.

Berto vs. Cintron makes sense for a few reasons.
    1. All the other guys are taken. So why not a guy arguably accomplished more and and beat better fighters as Cintron has?
    2. Berto calling out JMM or the other jrWW's is a joke. He hold a belt at 147, and has yet to defeat real contender. Cintron fits the bill.

Say what you want about Cintron, but he's fought some tough competitors, win or lose. Berto is still being hand fed paper challenges. Before he thinks he deserves the Pac sweepstakes, I think he needs to BIG win, and if he beats Cintron, that would be his first.

    Thoughts?

Berto don't want Cintron. Cintron is BAD medicine for Berto. He'll knock Berto's weak chin in the third row.

Cintron TKO8. Or he falls and breaks his neck in round seven after tripping on his own drool and Berto is declared the winner by TKO. Either way, we CANNOT lose.

I dont like either and neither is deserving of any decent money fight for varying reasons.

However, better test for Berto who wins a close, controversial UD with scares along the way.

I want to see it. Berto hasn't had a "challenge" since Collazo and even that fight could've gone to Collazo. He needs to step up if he wants to be taken seriously. Cintron does behave like a, for a lack words, "*****" sometimes in the ring but at least he will face anyone and his resume(unlike Berto's) shows that(Margarito twice, Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez). This would be Berto's best win if he does beat Cintron so he needs a fight like this. As of now he's a joke.

I liked Berto immediately from the beginning. And I want to keep liking him, but the dude seems like he's buying into his own hype.

Has HBO/Haymon created a monster who doesn't feel like he needs to work his way to the top, rather then get placed there by the powers that be?

I see no reason why this shouldn't get made.

Berto fights from reflexes/brawns instead of from smarts. Cintron still has respectable power so if Berto bangs with Cintron......good luck with that. Cintron is a boxer/puncher so he can do either one. I can only see a Cintron win in this but I would give Berto credit if he were to win.

Berto is a small WW. Cintron is basically a JMW. If Berto wants to avoid getting ktfo he should look to the Bradley/Alexander winner instead.

Berto is a WW and should fight other top WW's. That would be a great start! :good

I have no issue with Berto-Cintron. Berto has done enough to prove he is head and shoulders above what the B-classers have to offer so a part-time A-classer like Cintron seems like a good matchup. Even though brief, Cintron had a decent showing against Williams so it would be a good test.

Berto has fought at JMW (and even as high as MW) in the early part of his career so I don't think the weight would be an issue.

I like Berto in this one by MD or UD.

Yeah, I wanna see this fight. But Berto seems not to be interested unless big money is involved. Berto said it does nothing to advance his career. Its a risking fight for him but who else can he fight?... No more C level fighters

His last four fights have not been against C-classers. They have been against solid B-classers necessary to advance to the top:
Hernandez (Solid win against Karass, and past-prime yet still game Corley and Tackie)
Quintana (Good wins against Williams and Julio, and mixed it with Cotto)
Urango (Mixed it with Alexander and Hatton)
Collazo (Mixed it with Mosley and Hatton)
