    Are kung-fu dojos as strong today as they were in the Tang Dynasty and 5th/6th century BCE?

    Are fencers of today superior to those combatants from the 16th and 17th century?

    Are acoustic guitarists on the same level as those from the Romantic period?

    Art is not a constant evolution. It is a rise, peak, and fall. Art is not science. There is no empirical evidence for evolution outside of the sciences. Boxing is a martial art.

    It wont accomplish anything. This guy has watched a couple highlights/yt clips and his mind is set. Let it stay that way. If you can't grasp the technique of the era, the fighters themselves have no context. Without that context.... You can't rate.

    That´s the problem. People go on about evolution but evolution is a science thing with little relevance outside of science. Boxing is past its prime these days and it´s very obvious.

    I see we are talking about evolution again. Physically it is not going to be a factor. 147 is 147. If you think Robinson wins than pick Robinson. If you think Mayweather wins than pick Mayweather. Humans have not evolved that much over the past 60 years. Physical evolution is not going to be a factor.
