Forgetting to mention that Bika had drawn with 3 time WBC champ Beyer and was robbed of victory. That would have made Bika WBC SMW champ when fighting Calzaghe, if he hadnt of been robbed.
    Bika also beat Manfredo.
Consider Bika was considered a good enough opponent for current WBA champ Ward and gave Ward a tough nights work.
Bika was world rated and still is.
A good victory over a world rated opponent, still mixing in world class

Was a fight made to get American interest for a potential fight with Hopkins.
Manfredo was rated in The Ring top 10 at the time of the fight, so was a ring top 10 fighter when Calzaghe beat him. Manfredo had also Pemberton and undefeated Spina. Manfredo would go on to beat contender fighter Banks.
A win over a world rated fighter for Calzaghe

Not telling the half of it, as the win over Mundine was a good away win
    Andrade was undefeated
    Lucas a former WBC champ
Beyer was WBC champ and the 3 time WBC champ with a good resume
Kessler had also beaten Siaca the WBA champ who was a world class fighter, former WBC champ Thobela, JC Green and Porras.
After losing to Calzaghe Kessler beat undefeated Sartison who went on to become WBA regular champ himself.

Haussler away in Germany for a good away win against a world class opponent.
Kessler has been suffering double vision and unwell and would lose to Ward but came back even when unwell and suffering double vision and beat undefeated WBC champ Froch.
So after losing to Calzaghe, Kessler has won the WBC & WBA SMW titles.
Good win for Calzaghe beating a healthy undefeated Kessler when prime

I did a comparison once before, but Hopkins has so many nuthuggers that they will not look at any of the facts, and just go on the attack.
People fail to notice that Veit has a better SMW resume than Johnson for example

So in Calzaghes 22 title fights at SMW most of them look very fair fights
    Eubank - Calzaghe was underdog
Reid - A world class opponent
Starie - a winner over undefeated future IBF LHW champ Woods who would challenge again
Sheika - a mandatory tipped for big things who was world rated and had beaten G Johnson and would challenge 3 times again, and recently gave Diaconu a hard fight, yet nobody at SMW got rid of him like Calzaghe
Woodhall - A world class opponent
Veit - A world rated opponent beaten when undefeated and beaten when more seasoned, and remeber Veit has only lost to world champs or fighters who became world champs and has a win over current WBO LHW champ Braehmer
Brewer - A world rated opponent
Mitchell - A world rated opponent. The 2 time WBA SMW champ who was world rated and never beaten clearly
Mkertchyan - A world rated opponent who went on to beat the 26-0 European champ
Lacy - Undefeated world champ and favourite to win, and who has a better win resume than any active American SMW
Bika - A world rated opponent, who has challenged again
Manfredo - rated in The Ring top 10 at time of fight
Kessler - undefeated WBC & WBA champ who has gone on to win those titles again, even when not a full health

So out of 22 SMW title fights 14 seem good genuine wins.
Tell me anothet long reigning champ who in so many world title fights didnt have a couple of gimmes. That happens when you have so many title fights, but there would have been a few less if Echoles, Tate and Telesco hadnt of backed out of fights with Calzaghe, not that Telesco was anything great admittedly, but America know who he is.
Consider also that Calzaghe beat all of Americas top SMWs of his era that would face him in Brewer, Manfredo, Sheika, Mitchell and Lacy

    :yikes

If there was an ESB newspaper the headline today would read:

"THREAD-STARTER USES SIMPLE FACTS TO OWN AND SHAME CALZAGHE AND ALL HIS FANS"

    And the sub-heading would be:

"Even years later, Calzaghe fans fail to dent the most
    This content is protected
    thread in ESB history".

:huh If you check the 1st page, this thread is from September '08, so the Jones fight clearly did not influence the TS as that fight hadn't happened yet.

    D'oh! :patsch

^ It's ALL common knowledge that Calzaghe lacks balls and only fought bums and contenders he felt were "washed-up", and having NEVER in his entire career faced a prime ATG or a prime champion. Kessler don't count since he is as much a manufactured star as Calzaghe's lame ass. Both share the fact that they both hide out in Wales or Denmark fighting bums and padding their records with unknown or little known bums and B level competition like Reid and Sheika. Keep moving along you Beetle Bailey. There is no ATG to see here. Just another hyped QUITER.

    Pathetic.

'Calzaghe didn't fight a prime world champion'

Oh wait..............he did? He actually unified the division? Oh well, well errrrr..............they didn't count.

How the **** was Kessler a manufactured star? He was a genuine world champion, with all the tools to actually have beaten Calzaghe, but he didn't, because Joe was too good for him.

What qualifies you too question Calzaghe's guts?

Drink kills brains! Kessler was as much as a hype job as Calzaghe. As soon as he met real top talent he was exposed as the hype job he is. In fact, Kessler's record contains as many bum mates as Calzaghe's resume. Both are filled with Euro-bum opponents and washed up b level contenders.
Realistecally, both Kessler ands Calzaghe get no respect outside of those drunken European countries that know **** about the sport of boxing. Neither actually deserve respect for fighting bums for over 90% of their careers.
