Frank Warren is responsible so people should lay off Calzaghe IMO but in saying that when he parted company with Warren the only fight he made for himself was the one with a shot to **** RJJ and then retired :verysad

Jones was so shot that he had had 3 tune up wins after going the distance with the former Ring LHW champ.
60% on Bunces boxing hour picked Jones to beat Calzaghe.
Jones was in The Ring top 10
Jones after losing to Calzaghe beat Sheika in 5 rounds who has just given recent WBC LHW champ Diaconu a herd fight.
Jones was a suitable opponent for recent title challenger Hopkins after losing to Calzaghe and scored a not counted KD against Hopkins that Hopkins couldnt get up for inside 10 secs.

Also Jones decline may have come after it was found he wasnt fighting clean.

Good Calzaghe win against a world rated opponent

Give us the list of American road sweepers and dog catchers that Hopkins fought in his title reign. Who`s fault was it Hopkins? his promoter? his manager?

Nah, Calzaghe's fanbase was big enough and Warren's financial muscle was strong enough that Joe could've demanded big fights at any time and Warren would've gone and got them. The unavoidable truth is that Calzaghe did not have the balls to test himself until he had seen Lacy fight Omar Sheika and knew the time was ripe for an easy unification. :deal

There was no reason Joe Calzaghe couldn't find himself another promoter if he genuinely wanted to seek out challenges in America earlier on in his career. The buck stops with him, unfortunately.

Here I am trying to defend Calzaghe but these clowns want to talk about Hopkins, that's the problem right there it's never about Calzaghe it's always about someone else :-:)-(

Jones was shot, yes, but at the time there was still a big question mark over what he had left. Joe fought bums, but boxin g is a business, blah blah blah.

No doubt! It's no secret that Calzaghe lacks balls and had Jones not suffered KO loses just prior, Calzaghe would have kept his packaged and Hyped Flat ass in England fighting more bums. The girl QUIT when he knew he could no longer get away with it any longer without Warren. Good thing he quit or he'd have at least 3-4 losses on his hyped recorded. Joe Calzaghe - King Of the Euro-bums!

Who should he have fought then?

He signed on to fight Steve Collins but Collins was forced to retire.

In 2002 the fight with Hopkins was almost made but Hopkins backed out. Showtime continued to beg Hopkins to fight Calzaghe but he didn't want to know.

Sven Ottke wanted nothing to do with Joe.

Roy Jones has admitted that didn't want to fight Joe. There are also several peices of video footage with Joe calling out Roys Jones. Even the American commentors for Showtime when covering his fight with Charles Brewer in 2001 said he that Calzaghe, " Really wants Roys Jones and Bernard Hopkins."

Glen Johnson refused to wait for Calzaghe to recover from injury and fought Roy Jones instead. Calzaghe agreed to fight Johnson in September 2006 providing Glen beat Woods. Cazlaghe was ringside for the fight but Glen Johnson lost.

Thomas Tate pulled out of fighting Joe. Antwon Echols turned Joe down.

So who was Joe expected to fight? Maybe the world champions, top ten contenders and mandatories that he did fight.

Us keyboard warriors don't know exactly why certain fights didn't happen but it was not all Joe's or Frank's fault.

    Don't come here with facts.

Just accept that Joe ducked EVERYONE who was ever any good ever.

Don't ask for background information, he just DID OK?

    Got it?
