Is JMM the greatest ever mexican boxer?

The list of fighters I'm trying to watch more of is endless; Azumah Nelson, Sumbu Kalambay, Floyd Patterson, etc. The list goes on and on. Unlike GPater, I can't just sit around and watch fights all day, every day, I have other interests to attend too...and need to check up on Noni news.

ya, it's hella hard to rate one above the other....but that first manny fight for erik does it for me...considering what manny has done with his career...not to mention the two victories over two men that beat barrera.....

 

Junior Jones had been knocked out early by Kennedy Mckinney prior to fighting Erik Morales. How notable was this victory on the grand scale?

Well I'm on winter break so I'm stuck in a snowed out house studying MCAT and watching boxing, can't go out, can't do ****! Save dudes like Kalambay and Nelson for later: Zarate and Patterson are that real ****.

Technically, He was born in the U.S.
But he is still of Mexican decent, Anyway he is not needed for this list.

The Mexican-American list is just as impressive, IMO.

I'll say this though, I'd probably rule out Chavez's performance against Rosario. It was impressive to see Chavez outfight Rosario and break him down mentally and physically over the course of the fight, but in hindsight, we know this was never winnable for Chapo. Rosario was a big hitter but he had questionable punch resistance, and he wanted to go hammer and tong with granite in Chavez? It was never really a winnable fight for him, although I know at the time Rosario was favored by many.

 

I don't really need to see more of Zarate. I have plenty of his fights.

Aside from the JCC, Olivares, Saldivar, Sal Sanchez, MAB, EM, Zarate, Canto mentions for guys who could rate > JMM...you could throw in Baby Arizmendi and Rodolfo Casanova, which would push him out of the top 10.

...Err, no. If you say Zarate then I assume you mean the Bantamweight guy with a kick ass mustache.

I already admitted that Erik has the slightly better resume, but Barrera beat Morales twice. Three times, according to my scorecards.
