He was the most frustrating fighter always blowing hot and cold his display against Nardiello was probably his best. Reid had ( not so sure anymore) a solid chin but sometimes appeared a bit gunshy which was frustrating because when he wasnt ie Nardiello he looked impressive. Things could have gone differently for him with the calzaghe and Ottke fights. His preperation for the Lacy fight was appalling if i rememeber for some reason he barely trained and whe he got to the states all he did were some situps in his hotel room and laps of the hotel pool i think by that point his heart wasnt really in it His last fight was against Froch but i think that was just a payday really and he retired on his stool after the 5th and collected his purse. Wouldnt want to see him in any other boxing but prizefighter tbh will be interesting to see what Reid turns up
Ha ha, you leave smigga out of this! I can't remember reids fight against Brinkley though, was he really that much of a ****? Against calzaghe he didn't half land some absolute bombs and took some himself, I dint think anyone could have argued had Reid taken the decision though. Not sure if a return to a competitin where landing bombs and ko's are top of the list is ill advised. He's been out for so long, legs could have gone by now
Yeah it annoyed me when Robin just went over to do the pleasantries as normal fighters do and he flung hand up at Reid like go away. He should remember Reid didn't score fight, and also he will never have the ability or titles Reid held. Never liked Brinkley...i know some people think he's great...i just can't stand him.
I always though he came across well in the original contender, not like Ishe smith who just wanted to kick off with everyone. Brinkley lost his last fight though didn't he? Wasn't it an ibf title eliminator?
Don't think that's true mate. Richie Woodhall spotted the glass in the ice cream before Joe ate any of it. Think it was the hands again he blamed.
