Would you back any ww or lmw to beat SRL twice in a row?

  1. but leonard was no robinson, at ww armstrong would kick the ass of leonard and duran. and armstrong was no exactly in his prime when he faced robinson

He was still a top notch operator in a similar way that Ali was after his best but the consensus is that Hank wasn't the same... A swarmer with decreased speed and reflexes is a guy who is easy to make mincemeat of. I think the Armstrong of the Ross fight or the first Ambers fight would give both Rays a hell of a fight. Both of them never liked a good crowding fighter and Armstrong is GOAT in this category even if there's a big size disparity

Yes you did say "someone from this list", but why include people on the list who would have zero chance of defeating prime SRL once, never mind twice in a row? :huh

Norris has a better shot than most.

No such thing as zero chance in boxing, styles make fights and Leonard was susceptable to being outboxed by quick boxers with superior defense imo. Like I say I strongly favour Leonard over those, but I wouldn't be suprised if 1 of them upsets him

I'm not convinced Armstrong, I just don't think he was a legit WW in the first place. His weakness was always uppercuts on the inside, which is why Ambers had much more success than Ross.

Ross also didn't have the power to keep Armstrong off him, Robinson and Leonard certainly did

Good point, both SRR and RL have very good uppercuts and stopping power and that could make the difference. He was certainly very blown up at the WW limit, but he was also fast and sharp enough to take advantage of Ross the way he did, put the guy in the hospital even. Hard to say.

Did you see all the problems Mayweather Sr. gave Leonard? :nut

  10. he had problems with a fast and larger man like hearns too. so he might be outboxed too

But Hearns might just be the single most difficult fighter ever to outbox at WW and LMW.
