Which stance would you choose, why, and does either really have the advantage?

I'm left handed but I feel more comfortable standing orthodox...I feel my jab is stronger and I'm more quicker with my right hand...but my footwork is more stagnant...when I'm in a southpaw stance I can move better and I feel more confident with my power in my left but I hate my right jab it feels so ****ing weak...my all time favorite southpaw is Pernell Whitaker and my all time favorite right hand fighter is Thomas Hearns...I believe the advantage is based on the intagibles but I'd rather be a right handed fighter they tend to look more comfortable in the ring....Let's talk about it....

I'm gonna start doing these at least once a week...this is probably going to be my least creative one so just bear with me...

Well leftys are usually better naturally with both hands.

I'm right handed and i switch a lil bit just naturally though, my default stance is orthodox.

I love the lead right against southpaws man.

I think if a had a choice with regards to boxing i'd be a righty

Yeah I'm not Miguel Cotto I'd be a smarter fighter than him and tie my opponents up when the momentum is not going my way but don't worry about who I'm not and focus on where your going and want to be...I would like your opinion on the topic of discussion cause I'm tired of Mayweather/Pacqiuao threads

I wouldn't worry about being either right hand or southpaw. I'd worry more about working on my technique, conditioning, offense, and defense. If your naturally a southpaw, learn how to fight both right handers and lefties, because eventually you'll fight a lefty like yourself. Because southpaws are a dime a dozen, being a southpaw can be an advantage because it isn't as common, but understand their are many orthodox that know how to handle a southpaw. If I'm sparring a southpaw, I move to my left and stay out the pocket to prevent stepping on my feet and head clashes. I honestly don't find it so hard after figuring a guy out. Set them up with a basic 1-2 and especially if they have a southpaw jab left hooks work great vs. southpaws, but you have to be constantly repositioning yourself. Most southpaws do well fighting backwards unless your Pernell Whitaker. The only reason it probably wouldn't work vs someone like Pacman is because basically he hardly throws any jabs and left hooks would be a bad idea vs a fighter like him. The only one that had any success with left hooks was JMM.

Until there are an equally distributed amount of right and left handed people the minority have the advantage this being southpawed fighters. There is scientific proof that left handed fighters have a distinct edge in fighting due to the population being 6-15% left handed. Some argue it is because of the right brain vs left brain and others the element of surprise or both.

You may have some anomolies like Kosta Tszu but for the most part being southpaw increases your skill set by the uniqueness and less experience facing them in sparring.

The real advantages is their rarity.

It would usually be better to have a perfectly timed cross than jab.

Fighter who fight backwards like Wright, it only works for him because his left hand cross is so coordinated, despite it being with his weaker hand. Winky raped Mosley with his left as much as his jab.

These backwards fighters usually have to be pretty two handed to pull it off.

If you are a very one handed person, best to have the stronger hand at the back.

I'm right handed. I would fight right handed or orthodox. I think converting is stupid sure you may be more confusing going from orthodox to southpaw, and you have more power in your lead punch. However it makes you a one handed boxer. Besides a jab is not suposed to be a power punch in the first place, and a good hook with your "weak" hand should be enough to to damage.
