Not sure if there's already a thread bout this potential fight. How do you guys see this fight turns out?
JMM UD. I think Maidana scores a knockdown or 2 on the way but JMM counterpunches his way to a decision. Great potential fight, would love to see it as a guidance to see if JMM can hang with the bigger boys.
Maidana by deadly KO on Marquez...I hope Marquez wont accept this fight if he still want to be alive..Marquez has no business on higher division...
JMM decision for me, I think he is too good for him regardless of weight. Id like to JMM stay a lightweight though.
JMM by UD. Maidana is tailor made for JMM. He has the power to make it interesting but he gets outboxed nonetheless. Actually i think thats the easiest fight if he wants to move to 140 out of the top guys.
I think JMM or Morales at this point would frusrate Maidana. You have to more than just keep coming forward and trying to cut the ring off against those guys. I understand Maidana can box effectively in the middle of the ring but probably not against JMM regardless of the 5 to 7 pounds. Maidana been most effective trying to work his opponents to he ropes to set up the power shots. However, it seems after guys fight JMM in to a corner he seems to counter his way out and eventually land the sharper, cleaner and more effective punches. I just don't see this changing because of Maidana's power. If JMM gets caught, yeah it could be a short nite but I don't think Maidana will find him.
But once JMM gets caught with Maidana's power punches, it could definitely end the night early. I thought Maidana is a much stronger puncher than Katsidis and we all know how marquez can get easily knock down.
I don't think JMM moves faster than Khan so I think Maidana's aggressive style coupled with his heavy punches will eventually pay off against JMM at around 6 or 7th round. JMM's counterpunching skills will amount to nothing.
Maidana stops him. He's too big and would pressure him until he stopped him. I don't think that JMM has the power to keep Maidana off of him. I'd be rooting for Marquez but I have a really tough time seeing him beating Maidana at 140.
^^ Pretty much. Maidana will be all over him with those strangely angled heavy shots from the opening bell, and JMM isn't exactly the fastest guy above 135.
