marquez cant win over 135 maidana will knock him out. maidana v ortiz dnt make sense they fought once ortiz lost n doesnt want anything to do with maidana again . the rematch that makes sense is maidana v khan. instead maidana is going to fight lamont peterson

Yes since JMM has been KOD.

He has taken punches from Pac who probably punches just as hard and still came back to spank him.

Maidana is too open and too crude. I think JMM probably does get dropped but he comes back to outbox Maidana and probably drop him too.

    JMM UD

Maidana punches harder than Pac in my opinion, Pac's accuracy and speed are what make him dangerous.

And JMM is unproven at 140, he looked awful moving up against Mayweather.

if maidana lands i think he would hurt Juan too much.
as someone above said: JMM really doesn't have to go any higher than 135 where his advantages as a great fighter are completely nullified. he just becomes ordinary at anything higher than 135 i reckon....

That's what makes this fight more dangerous for marquez. We saw how Maidana eats Khan's punches and marches forward. Marquez may counter all night but again that won't be enough to stop maidana. I also thought Maidana punches harder than pac. So I guess Jmm's only chance to win the fight is by surviving 12 brutal rounds

Maidana by decapitation, JMM, too old, too small, too easy to hit and dosen't have the footwork or power to keep the bigger Maidana from walking him down and KO'ing him, imagine if Diaz had power, he hit JMM numerous times but just didn't have the fire-power.

Same with Katsidis, at this stage it's not hard to hit JMM and Maidana being naturally bigger and having above average power spells instant retirement for JMM.

i think jmm is untested at higher weights

problem was his only fight was against one of the most technically gifted and greatest defensive boxers of all time!!

JMM would TKO inside 8 rounds. Maidana would get slaughtered.

I don't buy JMM being able to impose his will above 135. Even LW is a stretch. He's too small. Maidana would take lots of shots but would wear him down, and walk him down.

It would be right up JMM's alley of fighting dudes tailor made for him, like Katsidis, Diaz...

:deal I think JMM can outbox Maidana. His power is the only thing JMM has to fear, and I think he can avoid just enough to get the win. I'm thinking at least one, if not two knockdowns in Maidana's favor. Would be an interesting fight as JMM would have to win majority of the rounds like vs Pac due to knockdowns.

I think Maidana punches much harder than Manny. Middleweights have sparred with Maidana and said he punches abnormally hard even for a middleweight. Guys like Oscar and Margarito say that Manny's power isn't much of a problem. It's the speed that troubles you. I'd think Katsidis punches pretty hard, though. I think it depends on how frequently Maidana can land on Marquez. If he can land as much as he did on Khan, he may very well knock Marquez out.

    Are people serious?

    Maidana by KO

    Too much power, too big.

Maidana would brutalise the man alone with his power.

JMM has no business at 140.

very dangerous fight for JMM. Potentially a career ending beatdown . Maidana was walking thru Amirs flush shots, he'll easily handle JMM's best shots.
