So Khan can take Maidanas punches who is classified as a glass chin and JMM who has never been KOd and has much better technique wont last 12 with Maidana.
Who classified that apart from idiots?... that's just stupid. Khan is also bigger (and stronger) than JMM, and a more natural welterweight.
LOL, didn't Marquez get hit 35 or more times by Katsidis in one round? Imagine if that was against a bigger and a stronger puncher in Maidana. The Marquez nuthugging continues.
Hmm everyone was come on now. And he did deserve it being that he was wobbled by a jab and he did show his chin is better now but after watching that fight again last night i saw Cortez interfeering way too much in that 10th round. Even when Maidana was punching Khan. I think if he let them fight their way out Khan gets TKOd Anyways back to the topic. JMM has shown he can take plenty of punishment and not to mention Maidana is tailor made for him. Come on man. Khan Bradley and Alexander i would favor over JMM but not Maidana. When JMM shows his chin is cracking or he is slowing down more i would say yes Maidana can take him but as of now all he has is a punchers chance against the quickest fighter at recovering from big shots.
Why do people keeping wishing that marquez stays at 135, seems like a common theme which keeps happening on this forum. Could it be that some people don't want Marquez to have success in the higher weight divisions? I guess only pac is allowed to.
No, why do people keep wishing Marquez would have the same success as Pac did above 135? No one is stopping Marquez from doing that. He just needs to prove he can do it before everyone can assume he would steamroll bigger guys.
Can you show me punch stats. Just watched that fight last night and i believe the highest punches well power punches Katsidis landed in one round were in the 3rd round where he dropped JMM. He landed 20. JMM landed 22. Even in that round JMM got dropped he came back to take control and almost even win it.
I disagree... with all of that. And Cortez only interfered when Khan was smothering Maidana trying to buy some time, if anything he was more helpful to Maidana in that round. I can see where you're coming from though, if Marquez had shown that he was anything like his lightweight self when moving up in weight, then I would've favoured him over Maidana without a doubt... but unfortunately he didn't. The only time he tried to move up above 135, he looked bloated and a lot slower... not good against a pressure fighter like Maidana, who punches like a mule.
Losing agains't floyd at 147 is nothing to be embarrassed about, he fought the best fighter at that weight without even having a tune up. I would love to see marquez fight again at 140 or 147, whoever he faces won't be as skilled as floyd that's for sure.
Round 7. Katsidis landed 38 punches, 32 of which were power punches. I can't post the link since it's from B-Scene.
I think Marquez can stop Madaina. I think Marquez will commit to his punches more than Khan can and he's way more accurate. Khan probably hits harder, but he wasn't putting **** behind his punches. Marquez will time and counter his slow ass and land double uppercuts on him
