Am I the only one that wants to see Martinez vs. Pirog (the dude that KO'd Jacobs)?

I think this is a fair fight against a your strong big prospect that would really test mantequilla (butter...as a compliment!) I mean maravilla!

I dont see anybody else testing him maybe Angulo but Angulo is to sloppy and gets hit way too much. IDK if I am going to pay to see him fight at MSG, I want to see that fight plain and simple big russian and argentine population in the city too Dibella step up!

Very dangerous fight. Martinez just fought PW 2X, Pavlik, and Cintron all in a row.

I think he deserves a big fight now. Or at least a tune up type of fight. Pirog is a hell of a fight for anyone and i wouldnt be surprised if he beat Martinez. I would give Martinez the slight edge.

It's more like - HBO doesn't want to see it - so it's not going to happen.

I believe Martinez would sign asap - if the money was right for the fight. Pirog is unknown to most - so they don't think it would sell - probably.

 

Stop dreaming. Pirog doesn't come close to being a big enough name for Martinez yet. I'd absolutely love to see the fight, but Pirog has to face someone with a bigger name than Jacobs first.
Also, remember that styles make fights, and these two might not even be compatible. The fight could turn out to be a stinker.

 

I think it will be something like Martinez-Cintron.

Except with more drama because of Pirogs better skillset and power. However Jacobs was able to outbox Pirog at times and i think Martinez being better than Jacobs he would edge out a very close win.

 

where has pirog been? why can't he get a fight? isn't he a belt holder?

 

maybe if pirog had done something to capitalize on his ko of jacobs in the interim...but he hasnt. i would loooove to see this fight but martinez is no spring chicken. he's gonna want big fights. pirog is a boxing fans fight but not one that will generate much income for maravilla.

if pirog gets rolling then this fight has a good chance of happening.

(i say martinez is no spring chicken and he's not...but pirog aint getting any younger either so he needs to step up.)

 

He needs to get a fight with Sturm then he holds more belts and a Martinez fight will become a money fight.
