If Holmes was shot against Tyson, then 4 years later, after another longer layoff & in significantly inferior physical condition, he wouldn't have beaten Peak Mercer & given Peak Holyfield a much more competitive fight than the highly regarded best version of Old Foreman did. Plus, even at age 45 he deserved the decision against WBC Champion Peak McCall in '95, but was robbed. Larry trained hard & got from 250lbs to 225lbs during his 3 months of preparation for Tyson, which included two 12 round exhibition fights against top 10 ranked contenders, in which he was widely said to have looked "very good". I agree, Carl Williams was rated #3 HW at the time, and Holmes had beaten him 3 years back decisively I only added it to follow the pattern Larry holmes beat shot Ali Tyson whoops Holmes hard Then Lennox beats shot Tyson Lennox retired at the right time.

Should have been 9-3 8-4 UD. And also De la Hoya was the bigger man against Mayweather as he made Mayweather move up to 154, no catchweights. When he fought Pac he was so weight drained, that Pac was the bigger man in the ring on fight night which nobdy predicted, so essentially Pac retired an ATG, albeit a smaller man. Its not Pac's fault that Oscar drained himself so severely but that was the case nontheless.
Holmes-Ali and Marciano-Louis were heartbreaking. Joppy-Duran was also hard to watch. But I love EVERY MINUTE of Camacho-Leonard.
