I've been really impressed with this kid. Keeping in mind that Lemieux is only 22 years old, he seems to possess the physical qualities to go far in this game. Seldom do you see such a young fighter hit as hard as David Lemieux, whilst also displaying beautiful punching technique, throwing to both body and head, consistantly. It's been far too much to handle for his opponents up to his point, and although he hasn't really faced anyone of serious note, he's been handling the lesser fighters as dominantly as you'd expect a future start of the sport to do.

Is there a better prospect in the world than David Lemieux? :think

His footwork is a bit basic IMO, and his defence doesn't appear to be that good at all. Camacho Jr was tagging him with shots and almost hitting him at will despite Lemieux beating him up. I mean, how can you not look good in knocking someone out in the first round? He reminds me of Victor Ortiz in the way that even when Ortiz has an opponent hurt, he still gets tagged with big shots when going in to pick the opponent apart. Watch Ortiz's fights with Harris and Diaz again, and you can see that even when Ortiz has both fighters hurt, they still hit him with big shots as he is coming in. Lemieux makes the same mistakes.

Alvarez seems like a better prospect to me, he has more to his game, a better resume, and more experience at the top, Lemieux could be better, but Alvarez is more proven.

The best prospect I've seen is Benavidez. Probably followed closely by a bunch including DeGale, Lara and Lemieux.

Lamieux looks good, but we have a lot more to learn before we anoint him, more questions are usually asked of punchers so we'll see. I personally like the look of my fellow Londoner James Degale.

i'd say gennady golovkin, nathan cleverly, degale, saul alvarez, ismayl sillakh, and luis garcia are better IMO.

There are a few fighters I would rate as the best prospects. Lemieux being one of them, Luis Garcia, DeGale, Frankie Gavin and Felix Diaz are the ones I really like the look of. Obviously there's guys like Alvarez, Benevidez etc, but I really like the look of those guys.

I don't really know much about Lemieux except that he has a hell of a punch and I remember seeing him on youtube in these videos :hat

I haven't been impressed with Golovkin, unfortunately.

I don't even think he's the best prospect at 160. Golovkin would beat him imo, unless you don't consider him a prospect.

He's a World Champion, but I'd probably favor Lemieux to beat him, regardless. Golovkin looks a bit basic to me.

Havent seen much of him. Only seen his last fight but has amazing power. Fight a few ranked contenders next year and see what happens. Also needs more exposure.

Cleverly? Really? He's good but he's far from special imo, he has yet to wow me and if he hasn't done that by now I can't really see him doing it.

i dont know man, he's just now becoming a full time fighter so he's gonna improve sometime in the future. he's one of those really fast, really awkward type fighters i like. needs some improvement yes but the potential i see him is what i like, you can see that he can become a much better fighter and he has yet to tap into that potential.

Saul Alvarez is pretty impressive to me so far. At least his record, level of comp, mixed with his age.

Not to take anything away from Lemieux.

Lemieux is good but just 10 minutes ago I rewatched the Camacho fight as he was getting hit most of the time Camcho attempted to hit him with any conviction and his footwork was sloppy. I could make more observations.

The best prospect in my opinion is Sillakh.
