i actually think he looks quite good, to me golovkin doesn't seem like the type that needs to rely on a big punch to win him fights. and thats the type a fighter i see lemieux as, i really think should he confront someone that can take his best shots i think he'd crumble. golovkin was a gold medalist for a reason, he's a workhorse that knows how to overcome adversity should he ever face it. but of course at the end of the day its just my opinion, do you think lemiuex could box if required addie??

Yeah but he's a paper champion, I would have beaten the guy he fought for that title. But fair enough.

Have you seen many of his amateur fights? His footwork, timing, accuracy is impeccible. He has all the fundamentals to be great and unlike Lemieux, he is multi-dimensional, he can box or fight on the inside. I think he'd give Lemieux a lesson. Lemieux could knock him out, it's very possible but I reckon Golovkin would take him to school.

I actually think all of the evidence is there to suggest that Lemieux is a very capable boxer in addition to being a big hitter. He throws great combination's, and delivers his punches with beautiful technique. Are we to assume that he can't box effectively simply because he's knocking his opponents out? I watched Golovkin in his last fight, and I saw literally nothing to suggest to me he has an easy time with the likes of Lemieux.

I dunno about great combinations. Ye, when he lands them but he rushes in and misses a lot with them.

well what im curious about lemeiux is that how will he handle himself when he's confronted with someone who's A) just as fast as him, B)hits just as hard if not harder than him, and C) the better boxer (yes i think golovkin is the better boxer). how would lemieux respond if confronted with someone who wont even flinch if he hits him with his sunday punch? we he be able to come up with a plan b? his physical dimensions alone determine he'd probably be lost should he ever have to box on the back foot

I suppose I've been watching the wrong fighter, the one I watched didn't impress me at all.

Anyone care to direct me to Golovkin's outstanding performance that would make him a clear favorite over the likes of David Lemieux? Don't say his last outing, I saw that.

Considering his age, he just turn 22 years old last decembre 22nd, he is the best prospect in boxing right now, but yeah Golovkin is better right now, again lets wait until the end of 2011 and we'll see
