Watching Erik Morales first title defence Morales got cut by the other guy with a headbutt. Because Morales was cut by this accidental headbutt, the other guy lost a point because thats what the WBC ordered- the guy with a cut gets a point advantage even though it was accidental. ******ed. My question is when did this rule start and when did it finish.
Happened in de la Hoya-Whitaker early and the cut wouldn't play a role in the grand scheme of things. Poor idea.
So shouldn't Pacquiao have lost a point to Marquez in their second fight? Accidental headbutt opened up Marquez' eyebrow.
Im pretty sure this rule doesen't apply any more for the WBC. Just curious- it can't have stayed long its a awful rule.
Yea they probably figured it didn't help them earn any money if people were worried about that stupid rule messing up their fight for one of those belts.
From the WBC's own guidelines at http://www.wbcboxing.com/downloads/RULESFORCHAMPIONSHIPFIGHTS-SYNTHESIZED 094.pdf Hope that helps man, bull **** ruling.
Im not sure it could easily do. I mean a reckless guy who is prone to cuts could use this to his advantage really. Very daft
its still on. if the local commission doesn´t agree with that its just not applied for those fights like the open scoring rule Pongsaklek vs Suriyan like two month ago is the last fight i remember such a point deduction has occurred the fight would have been scored a majority draw without the point deduction btw
