fair assessment. I like tony, i think he is a good fighter and is capable of becoming a world champion. just think something needs to change as its not working right now and I believe a move up in weight is needed.

problem is the jump in weight is not 7lbs its 25lbs.

He will be fighting guys that are bigger than him, taller, thicket set and bigger punchers. How will Bellew deal with that because his style so far has been to use his size as a major advantage and bully his opponents.

Rob, I don't mean to stalk, but you aren't having the best of days are you? Now you think a move up in weight is needed??

i still think the move up is whats needed just pointing out it wont be as simple as tony putting on 25lbs of muscle and smashing huck and cunningham next year.

I always thought a chinny fighter was someone that was hurt when they were put down, and I'm not sure this applies to Bellew. The second KD in the Ovill fight looked hard, but the guy bounced back up like he had hit a springboard. If he was hurt, he certainly didn't show it (I recall him punching himself in the head as if to say 'come on you shouldn't get caught like that').

Hamed was down serval times in his career, and he certainly wasn't 'chinny' as most of his KDs were a balance thing. This just proves that if a fighter goes down, he isn't necessarily chinny, as other factors are often involved.

Maybe it is a weight issue. I mean look at Khan. He went from being put down by Willie Limmond, and badly KO'ed by Prescott to becoming Jake LaMotta by adding 5 lbs! I had no idea he started off fighting at the Cruiserweight limit. If I was him I'd be considering the move up. Sure the guys will be bigger, but he'll be stronger at the weight and it might even improve his power with the extra muscle.

If this comes of I want to go on record now to proclaim that George Groves will stop James Degale. Take it to the bank. Groves is the best young British fighter I have seen for quite a while.

Groves will come unstuck against degale. I haven't got anything really scientific to say about it other than groves would be toyed with

With that confidence your'll make a killing at the bookies :good

I'll stick with degale tho. He is streets ahead of Groves at the minute.

I did think Groves prior to the pair last 2 fights. But whether its Groves wants to be like Haye, or as Booth put it Groves is working on a new "defence" on ringside. Well Groves is just far to open, and if that would of been DeGale in Anderson's place he wouldnt of got out the round

DeGale and Anderson are completely different fighters though.

I know that mate. Degale is a heck of a lot harder to hit than Anderson as well. Groves is a great finisher but his shots are far too wide he's too open and at the minute Degale finishes him with straight shots for me

The fight is nowhere near as one sided as people seem to think. they have sparred hundreds of rounds with each other. Groves reguarly spars with carl froch and Haye and froch rates him really highly. who does DeGale spar with?

One thing i prey is we have a fair ref that doesn't jump in the second a fighter is buzzed.

Sparring is great for tuning and ad******g to an opponents style, but it's not all on the line in sparring at the end of the day is it?
Groves struggled against a good domestic fighter, degale beat the British champion. Groves has got major adjustments to make if he wants to survive against degale. This hands down hang your chin out **** will be exposed by degale
