I disagree. rocky got cut up in perhaps 10% of his fights. outside of world title fights it was rare for him. we already know he got cut against charles so what? where is the proof he got cut in every fight? you can never guarantee a fighter will get cut even if he got cut in 90% of his fights. let me tell you marciano got cut in only 3 of 7 world title fights (against only #1 or #2 contenders) thats not even 50% of those fights.
with cuts? lol his face was destroyed!!! is it a good defence?:nut the face of rocky was hurt always . and he was slow like a tortoise, he was not even a hw
Hey Combat hows it going my man?! So let me get this straight so what you're saying is that because Marciano hardly ever got nailed cleanly with anything more than one or two effective punches at any one time THEN HIS DEFENCE WAS NOT GREAT??? And even when the greatest fight ever in the history of all the world ever for all eternity MUHAMMAD ALI said that Marciano was much harder to hit than it looked and was VERY hard to hit with the jab - THEN HIS DEFENCE WAS NOT GREAT??? PS if you were making a video about someone's defencive qualities wouls you put loads of clips in it of them getting nailed all the time? Even if you would you wouldn't find much footage of Marciano exhibiting poor defence anyway!! He was slow like hell - I love it when you say stuff like that - your the great Combat Even in his famous cut moments - he didn't look particularly battered anyway such as (hey look its me!!) rockys split nose - that was a super freak cut only time its ever happened in history - total million to one injury - but look at the the rest of the guys face - there's hardly a mark on it again a sign that he wasn't getting bashed up continually This content is protected Again after the first classic Ez Charles 15 rounder other than the cut over the eye theres not a mark on him - again a sign that he kept his face out of harms way on the whole - the cut itself was an old wound re-opening anyway which happens This content is protected by contrast poor Ez looks like he's had his face hit repeatedly with a baseball bat:tired This content is protected You're probably right on that one actually but earlier you said he isa fiva foot eleven IT IS A FACT!! PS "IT IS A FACT" cracks me up - don't ever stop using that
ali said? lol ali said "joe frazier is a gorilla", "jack dempsey is a joke"," i would ko joe louis". ali said 1500 things. you have your opinion, fine. my opinion is.. marciano was very slow for his size, his defence was not great and he would ko galento but it would not be easy for rocky, galento might well knock down him.
This would a slaughter....."Two Ton" Tony vs the"Brockton Blockbuster"??...the best conditioned fighter who ever lived against Galento???
Yeah but he was only joking when he said Joe Frazier is a Gorilla :yep He also said Foreman was a mummy but I didn't realise George had pregnant prior to the rumble in the jungle:huh?? He certainly got his figure back!!? :hey - but then he did let himself go again in the 90's:roll:
No your English is wicked Combat :good - I love all your funny lines - don't ever stop posting on here m8 - it wouldn't be classic without you
Yes. Although both men threw wild, looping swings, I think Rocky would connect more often, especially on the inside. Yes, he did. That's why I'm scared for Marciano if Galento connects, especially if he lands more than once consecutively. But I don't see him landing two powerful hooks on Marciano flush. Rocky would have to fight wisely, perhaps throwing a double left hook like the one he knocked out Henry Matthews with. That would put Tony on the floor for sure! Galento punched much harder than Walcott and Moore. That's what scares me about this. Walcott and Moore were sharp punchers, but they were under 200 pounds. What sways me more is that fact that with the exception of Joe Louis, they're the two best punchers Rocky ever faced, and they still decked him. That makes me think that if Rocky got struck by someone like say, Foreman or David Tua, he wouldn't recover. He never felt that type of power in his life. You were right that Rocky was floored briefly by Walcott and Moore, but his underrated defense kept him from getting tagged again, especially in the Moore fight. After the knockdown, Rocky stepped up his pace and relentlessly battered him. He gave Archie know chance for any offense. He kept him on defense, never giving him the chance to counter effectively.
Superb post, luckily for once I scrolled down to see other posts and saw that you, instead of me, decided to find the pictures to prove him wrong.
The only reason Rocky went down from the Moore punch was because he was off balance. It was the epitome of a flash knockdown. Another thing to note is how surprised Moore and Walcott seemed when Marciano was not hurt by their best punches when they landed at the perfect moment in the perfect spot. Walcott and Moore both had the power to knock you out with 1 punch in either hand, despite them weighing less than Galento. Joe Louis was able to nail Marciano with some hard rights, even just before the KO Louis hit Marciano with a pretty hard and clean counter right hand and Marciano showed zero notice to it. The hard hitting Rex Layne was unable to gain Marciano's respect after tagging him.
3 pictures of Rocky in the same exact fight all within 6 minutes of eachother shows absolutely nothing outside of that fight. One thing is for sure though, Marciano's face never got as swollen as George Foreman's did against Alex Stewart. This content is protected
