gabriel is my boy, he is fast, great stylist, great jab, good power, very inteligent in the ring,"chico guapo" by ud.
Erdei struggled against Fragomeni who is B-level fighter. Campillo is a great fighter who could give a hell of a fight for Erdei. I think Erdei wasted his career and Campillo would UD him.. Too fast and too awkward. Campillo 117-111
I've seen this fight used both ways, so I guess it should be put in the proper context. Zsolt Erdei took on Fragomeni who was the most vulnerable belt holder at Cruiserweight. He was 40 years old, short, and has very little power (only 3 KO's against opponents with winning records). I have no beef with him choosing Fragomeni simply because he probably would have been wrecked by Adamek, Guillermo Jones, Cunningham,Huck, etc. Even though Erdei took on the most vulnerable champion he showed up to the weigh-in only weighing 180 lbs so he was giving up a 20lb weight dsadvantage. He also reportedly had the flu during the week of the fight, whether his stamina issues in that fight were because of the flu or because of old age, that's up to opinion. I think Zsolt wasted much of his career thanks to Universum, but it's better late than never and Campillo isn't unbeatable so it makes for an intriguing match, especially with Campillo's physical advantages.
I don't remember cracking a joke :huh Erdei 'struggled' with a Cruiserweight champion and a fighter who weighed 20 pounds more than him. Campillo was starched by a fighter who got dominated by Beibut Shumenov. Uzelkov is a 'b-level' fighter as well. So at least Erdei beat his b-level fighter. I expect Erdei to win this without much of a problem.
Erdei would win in a close one. Neither of these guys are elites at 175 lbs (anymore, in Erdei's case).
Top notch fight at 175, but likely very technical. It's for the 'regular' WBA belt as Shumenov and Brahmer unify their paper belts, but in most of our books Campillo is the real WBA champ so it's only fair he gets a shot. Same with Erdei who was moved up by his ex-stable to fight Fragomeni on 5 weeks notice giving away 20 pounds so Brahmer could go for the vacant WBO belt. These guys are like Maravilla, politics throw them around, but whoever comes out on top should be considered one of the top LHWs and a legit world champion. I think Erdei gets a close UD using handspeed and the jab.
I really think you are underrating Campillo. I am not a big fan of him but damn he looked good against Shumenov. And he did it twice but as we know the result was ridicilious in their second fight. Erdei was a great fighter, no doubt. But I think he is not the same guy anymore. He is 36 and he has wasted his best years. Campillo has improved his status in his latest fights.. I really think that we will see old Erdei against Campillo who is just too awkward and fast for him. And Campillo's high and reach advantages are a merkable point here.. Prime Erdei would win for sure IMO opinion but I really think that he is not same Erdei who he could have been when he was younger.. But he never showed us his prime.. What a wasted talent, sad to say but I think that's the truth.
Campillo is one of the more underrated fighters in the sport. If he wasn't robbed against Shumenov he would be fighting one of the other belt holders and his career would have progressed a lot last year.
