Which 3 fights would you plan for him to fight in 2011. Name opponent, sequence of fights, and where the 3 wins would leave khan heading into 2012.
Presuming he wins them all. Judah. Bradley/Alexander winner. Marquez/Ortiz depending on how he does in 2011.
Judah/Peterson/Prescott (depending) Bradley/Alexander winner Marquez (if he decides to move up) All very winnable fights for him in my opinion, and great for his legacy too.
1. If Alexander wins, I'd have him fight Judah. If Bradley wins, test him against Peterson. 2. Bradley-Alexander winner. 3. If he's still comfortable making 140, offer JMM the chance to make history. If JMM doesn't want any, accept Katsidis' request. Khan needs to better deal with aggressive, pressure fighters who will force him to fight on the inside.
This is pretty much my opinion. Would be fun to see him dominate Prescott in a rematch though, just to shut some people up.
Interesting swarmer. This might sound crazy but i see him fighting Bradley well before the end of the year to move upto 147 and fight someone like Mosley in December 2011. Yes, I know that seems crazy, but my gut tells me that'll happen. By that stage Mosley will be well and truly gunshot and pac's fight will prove he's too old to handle speed. So, it'll be: Peterson Bradley / Alexander winner to unify 140 Mosley at 147 If he loses to Peterson then Bradley fight will be pushed to 2012. If he draws with Peterson, Bradley fight will be pushed to end of year instead.
I'm trying to go with something realistic. Peterson and Judah are good practice for Devon, if he wins. Mathysse is a strong inside puncher; Maidana proved that Khan needs more experience with guys like this and if he wants to beat Bradley in the fashion people think he will his team needs to force him to develop a skillset to deal with people up close. I don't think Khan vs. Alexander-Bradley winner will happen off the bat after both guys finish their next fight. I expect tuneups for both camps and these are good ones for Khan.
Prescott is irrelevant. There are only a handful of people who want to see this fight. It'll do nothing for his progression and prepping him for bigger and better fighters like Bradley, Alexander, Berto etc.
