I picked Ali without really scrolling down to see the rest...most pick SRR as THE ATG, but I think a lot of that is just a general consensus thing. He is the safest guy to pick when making those lists. Me personally, everytime I list my top 10, it is in "no particular order".

 

I picked Armstrong. Having as dominance over that much weight is a ridiculous feat.

Robinson. As far as I see it, there are 3 fighters who have a serious case to be called the greatest of all time, and Robinson is the only one on the list.

Before Robinson's first retirement his record was 131-3-2. The first loss was to ATG Jake LaMotta, who outweighed Robinson by 16lbs on the night of the fight, and whom Robinson beat all 5 other times they met. The 2nd was HOF'er Randy Turpin, who Robinson fought in his 5th fight in 4 weeks. In the rematch, Robinson avenged the loss in brutal fashion. The 3rd was HOF'er Joey Maxim, the Light Heavyweight champion who outweighed Robinson by 19lbs on the night of the fight and whom Robinson was pitching a virtual shutout against until succumbing to the record setting heat and retiring for the first time. He was never once beaten below Middleweight.

In that span where he built up thar record of 131-3-2, he picked up wins over Kid Gavilan 2x (a top 5 Welterweight of all time), LaMotta 5x, Fritzie Zivic 2x, a faded but still viable Henry Armstrong, Sammy Angott 2x, Georgie Abrams, Carl "bobo" Olsen 2x, Tommy Bell 2x, Turpin, Holly Mims, Rocky Graziano, and Jose Basora among others. That kind of dominance against that level of opposition is absurd. This of course not even including his extremely impressive post-prime performances at Middleweight, where he picked up multiple great wins even into his 40's. He also happens to be the most impressive fighter we have footage of in the eye's of a good majority of fans, experts, and historians, and I am of the same opinion. Armstrong is the closest guy on the list to Robinson, but I've never seen the reason to rate him higher personally.

Sam Langford and Harry Greb are the other two guys who have a serious claim to being called the greatest of all time.

I have not seen it. Really interested in Jeanette though, and obviously any footage of Langford is an awesone find.

i haven't seen enough of robinson to be honest to know how great he is but i think ray leonard is the greatest fighter out of the ones i have seen, he had it all speed, pwoer, footwork, ring generalship.

also beat some GREAT fighters very impressively and won championships at multiple weights.

 

Ali i think is the greatest, he introduced a style different from what is the normal norm in boxing which gave way
now to what they termed ring tacticians...brains and hands
