Eubank was great but he does get overrated at times. People seem to forget the gift decisions he got against average fighters as well. I can remember 2 or 3 where he was extremely fortunate to get the decision.

Nigel Benn never lost to a Yank either. Or Naz.

Ray Close x2 were considered the worse, some thought Rochiagani, Mallinga, Watson, Benn edged him but I don't. Eubank had his flaws and wasn't elite in my book

It was eubank that got reamed in the first Close fight.A clear as day win.

2nd fight was really hard to score though.

I thought he ran away with it against Rocchigiani and Malinga, would've ran away with it against Watson if dehydration didn't kick in.

Beat Close very comfortably. But the one in Belfast was closer, Eubank's jab wasn't working to find the range and timing and Close was in and out with his own jab.

I think the trouble for Eubank against Close was less success with his shoulder roll and defensive postures due to Close being an arm puncher, short chopping shots or peppering shots.

And I'd hardly call Rocchigiani or Watson 'average' fighters! Or a younger Malinga for that matter.

To be honest he completely schooled Watson (I), Benn (I), Rocchigiani, Malinga and Collins (I) for most of those fights.
