I picked holes in Ward's opposition because there are huge holes in them. Not his fault, he's turned up and gone to work every time. I like Ward, but he's vastly overrated on account of the Kessler win. And I'm hardly going to make a point then go about trying to provide a counter-point: that's your job on the other side of the argument. Lopez's opposition is markedly better. His last three wins combined are much higher quality than Ward's. The ranking doesn't really come into it.
I think you've got Segura a bit high...... I know you like your alphabets but the only decent name on his record is a faded Calderon, who'd been heading for defeat for quite a while now.
Ah the old boxrec argument, alright. It wasnt a schooling but Bradley won very clearly. I dont call a 10-2 fight competitive.
exactly. I had Bradley winning at least 10 rounds i seem to remember, but they were all 2-1 rounds rather than 3-0 if you no what I mean.
but the rounds were competative. It wasnt like a Calzaghe vs Lacy style fight. Perterson was never in trouble, out of his depth. Peterson is also a decent fighter.
Calderson was lineal champ for quite a number of years and undefeated. Maybe he was heading that way but Segura beat him.
I'd come to that conclusion many posts ago, dude. If I was writing an article about it you wouldn't see any of my personal opinion, but we're on a forum - so i can let my opinions run wild.
Peterson is a decent fighter, but Bradley is a very good one. He wasnt outclassed, but he was never really in the fight. I dont call not being outclassed competitive, I call it losing clearly but not being schooled.
This is how I would rank a loss from best to worst. Robbed - Rodrigurez vs Theophane Tight - Martinez vs Burns Competative - Munroe vs Nishioka Outclassed - Mosley vs Mayweather Schooled - Lacy vs Calzaghe Peterson goes into the competative category.
So there is no such thing as a loss in between competitive and outclassed?:huh I wouldnt have called either Peterson or Munroe competitive in their respective fights seeing as both lost almost every round.
Forget the scores and focus on what happened in the rounds. Say you have to give 5 points in total to the two fighters. so it can be anything off 5-0 4-1 3-2 All of the rounds in the Munroe and Peterson fighters were 3-2 rounds. You get what I am saying?
Being competitive in rounds is different to being competitive in the fight in general though. You can be competitive in the rounds but still lose 12-0, hence it isnt really a competitive fight.
