Ah, sorry, mate, I got you confused with Rob earlier. Great post though. When you get a fight like Pavlik/Williams, for one completely random example, breaking up over money, that's fine. It's boxing and we all know it happens in our sport. However, when fight after fight gets broken down because of accusations of poor offers, you really do have to ask questions. Such a long list of potential opponents all saying the same thing is suspicious. Heavily suspicious. Like I said, people constantly call Arum and King thieves who only look out for themselves but I ask anyone - Which promoter has had so many accusations of bad negotiating in such a short space of time? I can't think of anyone who is close, never mind who surpasses K2.
chisora talked about negotiations for his fight, even though his contract stipulated he wasn't supposed to. the result: no fight.
Pretty interesting how Haye wanted open negotiations and K2 didn't. K2 purposely instructed Chisora and Warren to not get into specific contract details. I don't understand why they are worried about that.

Boxing negotiations are NOT public, never were, the media is simply involved when it's already about promotion or when one side wants to ***** about publickly how they are not happy with the other. In Europe negotiations, purses and stuff are totally behind doors and tagged non of your business, and Haye didn't negotiate with Macca, Mormeck, Valuev (& the Sauerland deal) and Carl Thompson open either, or messaged through the media "Audley, you go down in the third when I say 'now'. Add to those Lewis and Byrd before they were self promoting, all in one division, all in the space of 10 years, Arum and King can't touch that. i remember hearing storys about roy jones getting 7 million an the guys he fought getting 500,000. The Champ is the one with somthing to lose, once you get that title, then you can make the calls. Unless you have a huge fan base, that is going to be the real cash cow of the fight, then you have to take what your given. 70/30 is not uncommon, i am sure ruiz didn't get 50/50 split with hayes, what did hayes give barrett, my guess less then 70/30, if he didn't, he is a fool
They aren't public, no, but they aren't ever hidden either. How many times do you hear a side specifically say "Don't go public"? Why would they even need to say that, if there's nothing to hide?
Exactly. In the business of boxing you're only as strong as much money you can generate and the opponents bring **** all compared to the Klitschkos, end of story. Know your place at the table and thanks God it's not a Don King sitting at the other end but two classy guys who are a credit to the sport while the Mayweather and Haye try to keeping it low. Both Povetkin and the Fixmaker bitched out of their career-high payday they signed for and people are complaining about how weak the Klitschkos era? Some just don't want to fight them, others, Chisora with Warren barking in the back, Solis unfortunately with Öner and King, and Haye of course with Booth and some sort of not-publicly negotiated deal with Sauerland - of course they complain because they have to pay their promoters as well.
Tell me, was the Haye-Valuev deal - plus some sort of pact with Sauerland - negotiated in public? NO! Haye fans only ***** about open negotiations because their boy bitches about it, nobody else gives a **** about the procedure, I mean we are paying for it not getting a cut of it, so why should we bother? I only care about the wealth of the fighters who were unfairly treated and deserve all the credit and respect. Sergio Maravilla Martinez is one of them, David 'I broke my back' Haye and Dereck 'I beat up women' Chisora are not.
Again, I'm not saying every fight has had public negotiations but, there's a difference between not releasing the details to the public because you don't need to and being told not to. If K2 had nothing to hide, why would they reject the call for public negotiations?
