    when is the last time there was a tune up fight, at heavyweight, just 8 weeks before a massive massive unification fight?!

    I don't know...and WHO CARES?
    It's not relevant to the current situation.
    Haye should just have agreed to it.

    Haye could have had 2 fights (Chagaev and Wlad) lined up, or 1. He chose 1 (Chagaev).

    Wlad should have taken the Haye fight first rather than this ****ing bum of the month pick, we have waited years to see the HW title unified and Wlad just doesnt seem to have the balls to risk what it takes to get that done.

    Sorry but Wlad ****ed this one up, and anybody who makes any sort of arguement in favor of this bum of the month pick needs to shoot themselves.

    So Wlad should sit out 10-months (earliest possible date for Wlad-Haye is July 2nd) and hope Haye doesn't pull out again? :patsch

    If I was sat opposite Wlad in negotiations, and he told me he would fight me 8 weeks after fighting a pointless waste-of-time fight with Derek Chisora, I would not take the offer seriously. if Wlad gets cut, hurt, beaten or even pulls a muscle it would mean the fight would be cancelled. It makes no sense to jeopardise the biggest earning Heavyweight title fight in nearly a decade by insisting to fight a guy who has no right even being in the same ring as Klitschko.

    Wlad has fought usually every few months since he stopped being a prospect and starting being considered a proper champion. He took a 10-month break between the Eddie Chambers and Ruslan Chagaev fight in 2009-20010. He had a 6-month break prior to that when he fought Hasim Rahman. Prior to this he had a 6-month break between every fight since winning the WBO title off Chris Byrd in 2000! Wlad has not fought at that kind of rate since fighting David Bostice 9 weeks after Paea Wolfgramm in March of 2000 back when Wlad was a 23-year old prospect who'd never even won a world title.

    So if that was Wlad's offer, that he'd honour the July 2nd date even though he's fighting Chisora a few weeks earlier, it's not an offer I'd take seriously if I were Haye, because it's completely unrealistic.

    I don't know but who really cares? You acting like an idiot for bashing Wlad cause he wants a tune up fight vs Chisora before a july showdown with Haye? lol are you serious? A 10 month layoff would be Wlad longest layoff since 05-06.

    Straight from Wladimir:

    "The fight with Haye is not off, the fight is on," Klitschko said, smiling brightly.

    "We had to get clearance on a date with Sky TV for pay per view in the UK and they we were concerned about conflicting with the upcoming Royal Wedding. So the wedding is set for the end of April and we got clearance on a fight date of July 2, for sure."

    Wladimir, who turns age 35 on March 25, said he intends to fight another British challenger, lightly-regarded Dereck Chisora, before the tangles with hard-hitting but lantern-jawed Haye.

    "I will fight Chisora on an April date, in Germany," Klitschko said. "Then we will move foreward with Haye."

    Oh and if i remember correctly, didn't Cotto fought a tune up fight in march or april before he fought his biggest fight vs Margarito in july? I bet there were more fighters that fought tune up fights before 3 or 4 month later in a big showdown.

    Two things

    1) If this is true, great, lets' get the fight on. Dan Rafael knows ****ing nothing.

    2) is Wlad is seriously going to take on Haye 8 weeks after Chisora he's got proper balls. He's not fought a guy at such short notice in 11 years, back when he was a 23 year old prospect fighting David Bostice. Wow.

    It was a near 4 month gap between Gomez and Margarito. That's nothing compared to 2 months that Wlad would have.
