And name me one Wlad opponent past, present or future that will generate the amount of cash or interest that a fight with Haye will. The Yanks will cream themselves over it, the Sky marketing machine would be insane and the Germans will go ga ga for it. They both need each other. But guys like McCrory are being ****ing idiotic if they think he does not need Haye.
The thing is I really think Haye is done with it. And I'm certain he'll walk come October. He seems to reckon he's got a movie career in waiting for him. The obvious fight for Haye is with Adamek in the States and let HBO market the **** out of it. And given HBO's need to take sides in affairs like this they via Schaefer will berate the **** out of Wlad for this. Wasn't Manny Steward just saying the other day that both men should put aside their ridiculous contract demands and just make the fight? I wonder if he knew Wlad and Bender were setting us all up for a big fall. ****s the lot of them
Bender Boener has already came out and said that the fight will happen on July 2nd. Which if you do the maths from the time of the Chisora fight is nigh on implausible. I hope Del bites his ****ing ear off or something.
Maybe he means means legacy-wise? If this fight doesn't happen then in 20 years Wlads HW career will not be viewed as having a big, David Haye shaped hole in it but when Hayes HW career is looked back on.....

Fair point :good You know more about this stuff but with the HW division being like it is surely people will look back and knock Wlad for not taking on Haye? Wlad's never going to fight Vitali (understandably), but after Vitali the only credible challenger is Haye. Haye is not going to be looked back on as a top HW, just one of many alphabet strap holders from his era. Wlad meanwhile is the most dominant champ of his era and him not fighting his top realistic contender will not look good IMO.
I know April 30 is the big ppv date for Khan too and probably a Warren show but for the Jul 2 date to happen you're telling me this fight could not have even been brought forward to mid March to give the Jul 2 date any chance of actually happening? The Wlad v Del fight on it's own is not ppv worthy so why not have it on the second Sat in March.
Agree m8! Done with the lot of em. Wlad needs Haye to cement his legacy and vice versa. Just cnt see why it didn't work out, I really can't. Ps classic excuse from Wlad about the royal wedding being a key factor!
