To take someone down, you generally have to cross the moat and shoot for it.

My question would be how many high level wrestlers were likely have been on the inside to try that at a time when UFC and MMA were pretty much utterly unknown.

He was released early for good behaviour and seemed to do a lot of reading and contemplation on the inside - Two things that detract from scrapping on the inside as you would imagine anyone tyring to **** with the ex HW champ on the inside was biting off more then they can chew.

There's thase stories about Hopkins raping a lot of guys in prison posted by that net journo I can't remember the name of - let me just say this "journo"'s articles made the most hate filled ***** or ******* look like a princess by comparison and I took no stock in them - but they come up more than stories of Tyson getting into fights on the inside.

Here's a googled timeline of his prison time:

March 26, 1992 - Superior Court Judge Patricia Gifford sentences Tyson to 10 years in prison, suspending four. She orders him to serve the term immediately.

May 8, 1992 - Tyson is found guilty of threatening a guard and disorderly conduct in prison, adding 15 days to his sentence.

Oct. 28, 1992 - Tyson's father, Jimmy Kirkpatrick, dies in Brooklyn, N.Y. Tyson does not ask for a leave to attend the funeral.

Aug. 6, 1993 - By a 2-1 vote, the Indiana Court of Appeals upholds Tyson's conviction.

Sept. 2, 1993 - The Indiana Supreme Court denies Tyson's appeal without comment.

March 25, 1995 - Tyson is released from the Indiana Youth Center near Plainfield, Indiana.

if couture could get tyson on the ground, it would be over. but i don't think that couture would take the risk. unlike some know-it-alls on the ESB forums who have never been in a fight yet know everything about fighting, couture knows that if tyson connected(uppercut) cleanly with 4 oz gloves he probably wouldn't be fighting for a year if ever again.

it wouldn't be worth the risk. trying to compare a wild, looping Liddell to a precise and methodical tyson in regards to precise punching power is akin to paq versus haye.

If a skinhead and a mexican street criminal aren't reliable to tell the truth than who is?

a Mexican with a biker stache and tatts. in my experience, the more tatts the more credibility.

WTF? we have another month before the Bradley/ Alexander fight. 30 more days of bull**** threads like this.

Prime Mike with 4oz gloves would just have to clip Couture on the back of the head or the ear as he is coming in for the takedown and the fight would be over.

A street fight is not the same as a boxing match. Some of the prisoners are bad asses who probably can beat Tysons ass if they didnt box with him instead got him down to the ground and beat the hell out of him. I believe this.

Absolutely right, many fights end up on the ground where Mike has zero ground game, so it is possible he got ground and pounded by those animals. Too many people here don't know fighting.

Total bull**** believe me guys werent lining up to fight with him... Ive been in prison (Cali) and i was busted with a few boxers and they had respect and people didnt **** with them so you think they were lining up to fight Tyson???

Dont get me wrong if Tyson was out of line and bullying people hed find some steel in his neck real quick just like any other guy who tried to throw his weigh around ( Except Shot callers who are exempt).... But fair puuleease even Bad ass cons know they are gonna have to have some kind of equalizer (knife or bunch of homies) to **** with someone like Iron Mike.

But you probably think Coutures victory over tony was great right?

The fact of the matter is they marketed that fight as MMA vs Boxing with a 46 year old Mercer just to make boxing look bad and it backfired. Of course its gonna be great to bring up.

Yeh but tyson ain't your average boxer. He's a street brawler who trained himself to become a boxer. If anything, fighting in prison and on the streets would be more natural to him.

its all bs. come on now noone in there right mind would fight one on one with tyson with no gloves. First of all it would have to be at least 2 or three people. plus they would come with some type of weapon. Two im pretty sure Tyson would get a lot of respect in prison. Tyson was a monster back then too. Plus we would of got wind of it through the media.
