Are some people seriously rating Floyd Mayweather as the best WW ever?

I read some "All time rankings" and was astonished at how high people seem to rate Floyd Mayweather at Welterweight, but the question is, what the hell did Floyd ever do at welterweight? :think

This thread is not meant to hate on you all "*****s" but if you rate him in such high regard, tell me who has he fought, please.

 

His resume is shite at ww. And it would have been a whole lot worse if he had been around mid 90s to early 00s when Whitaker, Oscar, Tito, Mosley, Quartey and Forrest were on the scene.

Lets look at his WW resume:

Sharmba Mitchell - I can accept this as his first WW bout, decent journeyman type-a fighter.
Zab Judah - All about making money, could of fought Baldomir instead, Judah came off a loss and gave Floyd fits.
Carlos Baldomir - for the linear title, gotta give Floyd respect for fighting the linear champion, but the weakest linear champ at WW ever?
Ricky Hatton - December 07, Hattons only ever welterweight fight was against Collazo where he struggled immensely and arguably lost, COULD HAVE FOUGHT PAUL WILLIAMS WHO HAD DETHRONED MARGARITO a few months earlier.
Juan Manuel Marquez - Do we need to say anything bout this one? Could've fought Shane Mosley/Miguel Cotto/Manny Pacquiao or Paul Williams instead.
Shane Mosley - Mosley had only looked good ONCE in three years, against a guy who suited him stylistically, Floyd was heavily favored, still.. a decent win due to Mosleys win over Margarito.

People need to wake up and smell the coffee, Floyd has had options, he never gave the likes of Berto, PW or Cotto a chance, boxers WE KNOW would take a fight against him ANYTIME.

You cannot be the best ****ing welterweight without fighting the best welters.

 

Somewhere between Trinidad and Cotto, around where Cotto stands, if not slightly below Miguel.

Whats the problem?

He's inbetween there, Cotto has a decent WW record for his time. I rate him ahead of Cotto, but I can see why people in all likelyhood could make a case for Cotto being ahead.

This is not H2H ranking, this is about your ****ing legacy, Floyd had options, whereas Cotto fought the best with the exception of PW.

 

This is what I am saying, he cherry-picked and his fans treat him like a god because he makes money? Who cares what he rakes in, we're all boxing fans, and no fighter is greater than the sport. Floyd had options to fight the best, and didn't. Who in their right mind thinks PW,Cotto and Margarito would've declined a fight with him?

People have a nasty tendency to carry over Floyd's accomplishments from pre-welterweight and try and apply that but his WW resume just does not stack up. Pre-WW Floyd you can't really **** with.

 

I agree, his performance against Diego Corrales blew my mind, literally.

Post-Sharmba Mitchell has disappointed, and that's just what it is. No real boxing fan is willing to accept his bollocks at welterweight, its been a bogus run and Floyd obviously steering away from the dangers and to the easy money.
