Because of the Group Stage , and injury's. If it was a Knock-out Turnament Kessler,Taylor,Dirrell where out in the first round , no need for replacements for delays etc. To make it a Knock-out T you need more money, because you need 8 fighters.

PS: Almost forgot No More A.Green!

    R1
    Kessler v Ward
    Froch v Dirrell
    Abraham v Taylor
    Bute v Andrade

If they would've ranked them the way they did now:
Bute would be seeded #1 because of the 4th round ko, Abraham #2 because the 12th round ko Ward#3 because the most rounds won and Froch #4
    Semifinals would have looked :
    #1 seeded Bute v #4 seeded Froch
    #2 Seeded Abraham v #3 Seeded Ward

    My Guess

    The Final:
    Bute v Ward

The tournament whoul've been over by now and considerate a huge success and flawless

You would've got to prospects Ward and Dirrell but not the IBF #2 ranked at that time Bute. Not perfect. But even like this it;s better because he is not freezed on outside. he got Abraham and Taylor who can fight. So it's better then what they have now

I have a feeling they never wanted to do business with him, instead preferring the likes of Allan Green and Glen Johnson, heck even Sakio Bika got a call from them...

should not have been a round robin should have been an 8 man with the 6 they had plus bute and Stieglitz the other holders

I mean the first round losers are the ones who withdrew Kessler Taylor Dirrel all lost in the first round and all withdrew had it been single elim this wouldnt have been an issue

I think Stieglitz would've enter the 6 man round robin tournament but not the 8 man Knock-out tournament.

i just think above all having two guys with belts not in just kills the idea of having clarity and unified champ

a round robin could work but its taking too long maybe less time betwween bouts

the super 6 had its problems but it was good to see boxing try something new. They took a risk and it didnt work out perfectly, but honestly how many of these fights would have been made if there wasnt a super 6 tourney?

No. I think a round robin tournament is not suitable for boxing.

In a team sport, it can work because if there is an injury, the team can still play. In boxing, it doesn't work that way.
