Interesting matchups, sucks that Lopez-Gamboa is still on the backburner:

Lopez, Gamboa updates

Sources are reporting that the strong candidates to be the next opponents of WBO Featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27 KOs) and WBA Super Featherweight world champion/IBF Featherweight world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (19-0, 15 KOs) are the following:
For Lopez an offer has been made to former WBA super bantamweight interim Champion Ricardo Cordoba (37-3-2, 23 KOs) of Panama to fight Lopez in Puerto Rico April 16th on SHOWTIME. The final decision will be up to Cordoba as to if he will take the fight or not.
In the case of Gamboa, HBO ruled in favor of his next opponent being former world title challenger Jason Litzau (28-2, 21 KOs) instead of Cordoba on a date to soon be determined. This would be of no surprise to many being that Litzau scored what many feel is the upset of the year when he decisioned former world champion Celestino Caballero this past November on HBO.

these are two pretty good fights. I'm glad they are putting JML-Gamboa has been put off for a little while, no need to rush that fight. though I definitely think it needs to be made in 2011.

JuanMa is going to win a very close decision over Cordoba, probably something like a MD, and Gamboa is going to put Litzau down in the eighth round or so.

not bad, not bad. i felt crdoba beat rigondeaux in the snooze fest, and litzau has earned it, but it's an early night for him, hopefully he gest a good pay packet.

I can't say I'm happy not to see Gamboa vs Juanma.. but these two fights would be good if they go down.. you cannot say they do not sound interesting... PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN.. HBO N SHOWTIME!

They are pushing the Gamboa/JML fight far too long. I just hope there "dream" fight doesn't come crumbling down because of an 'upset'!

Gamboa vs Litzau sounds intersting, though :bbb

BN 24 says that Salido is a strong candidate for JML.

Cordova didn't beat Rigondeaux, stop this nonsense. And instead of Cordova he should fight Salido, if he wants a guy coming out of a loss, a least he is a full 126lbs.

Rather JML vs Rigo

Love to see if Litzau can keep up the cinderella run and why not he is naturally bigger has title experience and is definitley improved and confident

Gamboa has flaws and Litzau can act on them, good match up

Dan Rafael's Twitter comment said Ponce De Leon vs. Litzau for the Marquez-Morales PPV but Gamboa vs. Litzau would be a fun fight to watch.
