It's amazing how you can twist it so that the simple fact that Wlad said no is obscured. Haye made a totally fair request: no fights inbetween that might jeopardise our fight. Wlad said no.

He said no. It's his ****ing decision and now he's going out of his way to avoid a Haye fight. What a dick.

 

I think it's the next best fight that can be made.

He's honouring the commitment to fight Chisora, and is then taking the highest available ranked contender...... bearing in mind Haye is now thinking Chagaev for May time and likes taking long breaks between fights.

Fair play to him as far as I'm concerned, and Adamek for taking the fight.

Beeston, what bollocks. He's honouring a joke of a fight that Chisora did nothing to deserve. He's facing Adamek who has no chance at all rather than simply not fight either and face Haye in July.

How you can say he's doing the right thing is beyond me.

 

Wlad should be fighting him. Too much games but i dont feel sorry for Haye, just the fans.

 

dftaylor: I don't think anyone is denying that Wlad is being a dick to Haye on this. Most people just think that Haye is getting what he deserves for his behaviour over the last two years. Why should David Haye get everything his own way? He is the CHALLENGER. Chagaev beat Valuev and Wladimir beat Chagaev. This all happened BEFORE Haye fought Valuev.

At the end of the day even if Vitali fights Solis in March, Haye could still fight to sign Vitali for, say, July 2nd. Most people don't care which brother Haye fights. I would LOVE to see Haye-Vitali in July.

Who the **** wants to see WALDO - Chisora when we have the possibility of WALDO - Haye? Why he can't just drop the Chisora idea is beyond me.

 

Valuev was better than Arreola. Ruiz was better than Arreola. Arreola had no chance against Vitali as was obvious on the night. And he gave Adamek serious problems early on in their fight.

 

Negotiations are now at a different stage. Who cares what happens in the past when the fight is pretty much a done deal and WALDO says he wants Chisora first. That's just a bull**** move. Whilst I may not agree with Haye's inability to wait, I can't help but feel WALDO has been a **** in the latest bout of negotiations.

 

That has nothing to do with the fight though. Haye pulled out of the first fight either because he was injured or because he stood to make no money from the fight. Both are totally reasonable.

He never actually signed to fight Vitali - he opted to go and get himself a better bargaining platform. He did it and now, with the mandatory out the way and a big money fight in the bag, he wants to fight Wlad.

And he's barely getting anything his way. He conceded to nearly every demand except one very important one: he didn't want any interim fights in case of injury and to make sure they could promote the fight properly.

We've got a great example of how a fight could be scuppered: Haye pulling out of the original fight with Wlad. Difference was it happened in training for that fight, not when he was fighting a completely undeserving nobody.

This is what I mean by a double-standard. If the positions were reversed everyone would say that Haye was just being difficult and that Wlad's request is totally fair. I think asking Wlad not to fight is totally fair.

Haye's behaviour (which I don't actually see as being that bad considering some of the contracts the Klitchkos get fighters to sign) should have no bearing on whether he gets the fight. He holds a major title, he's beaten better opponents at HW than Adamek (Arreola is appalling), he's a major draw and present stylistic problems for Wlad.

It's all about control. Wlad says he wants the fight, but not enough to concede one fairly minor point? Bull****. He deserves called on that.

But I agree with your last statement - he should aim for Vitali. I couldn't care less about a Chagaev fight.

Move, jab, bring the overhand right in. Arreola has no answer for those three things, plus Ruiz would rough him up on the inside. Arreola is a ****ing appalling fighter.

 

The Ruiz that we saw against Haye had nothing but heart. If he fought Arreola, i honestly think the result would be the same. Dont think Ruiz has the power to discourage him, he would tag Arreola more as he's not as elusive as Haye but Chris would eventually get to him.

Its no coincidence that Ruiz retired after the Haye fight, he was finished and Haye fought the worst possible version of him.
