Just like Lyle KO'd .... umm, wait, he never KO'd a live top10 contender in his entire career.

Let's just keep it at "Lyle would" in your 70's fantasy world.

No, I'm comparing Lyle with the Brunos, the Bothas, the Ruddocks, and the Golotas of the world. Tyson didn't lose to them.

Foreman was sleep walking in that first round of the Lyle fight.
Lyle caught him spot on. Though it woke George up, he was still
probably dazed for most of the fight. It made Lyle look better
than he probably was. George should have been more motivated at the start and took Lyle out early. Despite all this, Lyle was tough, hit hard,
and could be durable. He could stop Tyson, but he would have to deal with Tyson's quickness.

By realisitic I meant stopping Tyson earlier... I don't think he would.

and how accurate are those tests anyway

I'd have to go with Tyson. I like Lyle a lot, but honestly, his reputation is built mainly on near-wins, not actual wins, with the exception of a controversial victory over Shavers. He accomplished a lot for somehow who didn't turn pro until 29, but truthfully he was pretty inconsistent. He's kind of the anti-Ken Norton, dangerous against sluggers, vulnerable to boxers. Tyson was the more consistent guy....durability might be about equal, but Mike was faster, more predictably explosive, and better defensively.

Can't you just smell the agenda....

At any rate, Tyson stops Lyle in a wild ugly brawl. Ron couldn't resist mixing it up, and the overall tougher Tyson would take it.
