I hate to say it but winning is more important than being entertaining, even if it exposes your limitations. simply put 8-0 > 7-1 at least to the casual fans, who are however the ones that fights are sold/hyped for.
Stay as far away from it as possible... and burn the OSP fight too! Tyron Woodley is another Todd Duffee for me. As soon as he steps up to the plate i can see him getting sparked... That is true. But my point is for the hardcore fans he will be looked down on for **** like that :hey Do you not agree that a yellow card system for that fight would have been better than the **** we watched? In boxing if you **** around they take a point. The yellow card system was a little harsh at times but at least take a point for that rubbish... :twisted: Lynchburg
Control should be able to be outscored by attempts to finish the fight and cause damage. By that I mean, a fighter should not be scared to go to the ground unless the guy in top control will do damage. Fighting like Woodley did should be outscored by sub attempts and strikes from the bottom. If Woodley was to take someone down and do his own damage then he would obviously win but if he is going to win a round based on control then that shouldn't be the case if someone is continously trying to close the show via subs and strikes. Example - Diaz in his last fight went for about 5 sub attempts and was punching/elbowing from the bottom. Debatable round.

100% correct. I think he winds me up so much is because he could be so good but he just wants to take zero risks... If he gets the call from the UFC it will take about 10 wins to get a title shot because of the way he fights. Lynchburg
Give it time.. He hasn't had a fighter truly challenge him and bring out the best.. I didn't see the fight with Saffiedine, but a rematch is in the cards and from here on out there is no turning back! I won't burn him at the stake just yet.. He has some talent, all he needs is the confidence. Personally, I'm looking forward to watching his career unfold. Wait until he is down a couple of rounds or takes a big shot.. Only then will you see what he has.
I see him as a wrestler way out of his depth sadly. His wrestling is amazing but apart from that he seems to have zero skills or desire to finish I'm sure he has knockout power because the dude is huge... 4 submission victories by chokes and joint locks, but I think he has stopped progressing. I remember them mentioning last night that he has his own gym, which probably does more hurt than help in the long run. I doubt he will be laying and praying with someone well versed in Jiu Jitsu underneath him.
He's 30 years old and it doesn't look like he'll be coming to the UFC anytime soon. By the time he comes over, he'll be on the decline, and get worked by gatekeepers. No point in worrying about him stinking up too many cards.
I wanted Mein to win because he is exciting but like the rest of them he needs to work on his wrestling. Woodleys got the worst sort of wrestling, as he looks to win rounds via control. Not like King Mo who is aggressive in taking you down then looking for the hardcore GnP. If you fight Woodley and he takes you down the clinch for dear life until you get stood up again because he smothering style is a *****.
