I wonder is there a chance this fight will be shown on sky or Irish tv?

I cant imagine any hope of RTE having it if it's in America. Sky is a possibility though.

I hope both lads get a big pay day for this - it is a good fight. I favour Lee, but Duddy has the toughness to make this competitive. On the evidence of Lee's last few fights, he still has a lot of improvements to make with his defence and his inside game is very poor.

On a sidenote, as much as I would like to see Lee get a title shot against Martinez for a great pay day, I am very concerned that he wouldnt come through that without a heavy and prolonged beating or KO. Of course, I would love to be wrong.

Ya i think Sky is a lot better posibility because they regularly cover American cards. But if i remember correctly in 05 when Dunne went to germany to fight a journeyman, i think it was covered on irish tv with Jimmy Magee as commentator. if they covered an irish fighter fighting a journeyman in Germany then maybe they would go to america for the big matchup between two irish middleweights who have been regulars on rte.

HBO will be paying at least £250k for the fight, they will probably get something from the gate to.

If they dont show the Magee or Casey fights they wont show this. If Peters isnt promoting a fight very rarely will RTE show it.

Explains why they didnt take peters offer then - I dont think they were getting anything near that amount.

Im not so sure. I dont think RTE news has even given this fight a mention and they were quick to get Casey-Hyland out there. Maybe they will but I dont think it's likely. If Peters isnt promoting a card it's not likely to end up on RTE.

I doubt this was on the table when Peters made that offer.

I'm sure they knew the amount of money they could make in New York over St Paddys between the two would **** all over anything anyone in Ireland could put together no matter where it was held. Outside of Limerick Lee isn't that well known same with Duddy in Derry.

Really. Slap and Big Hairy Balls told me last year that Andy Lee vs Darren Barker would do 30,000 in a stadium in Limerick and sell the 02 in Dublin which is 10,000+ right? Or were they talking **** because it involved Lee?

I not doubting you Rob, in fact you're probably right, it's just that if Peters doesnt have a fight wrapped up it's usually not on.:good

It wouldnt come close to filling the O2 mate, talking out of their respective arses there. Especially when you consider Dunne-Poonsawat didnt even sell out the O2.
