His fans are claiming Marquez deserved what he asked for:
    $5 million garaunteed +
    $5 per PPV over 500K

All up $8.5-$10 million (If PPV does 1.2-1.5M buys).

They are comparing it to Mosley getting $5 million garaunteed
(plus probably much less of the PPV Marquez is demanding).

They claim Marquez deserves the same as Mosley (the difference of Mosley being a FA and JMM being with GBP doesn't register with them)

This where they show their ignorance.

Mosley got $7 million garaunteed to fight Mayweather from GBP
Estimates point to him receiving about $5 million from the PPV
all up that is about $12 million

Marquez received $3.2 million garaunteed from GBP for the Mayweather fight
He received only $20 thousand dollars for the PPV
all up that is $3.4 million

(Both fighters were thrashed by Mayweather, with Shane giving the better account having stunned Floyd. Mosley's stock may have fallen slightly due to him being older and more shot. However, Marquez stock hasn't risen at all, and the small portion he may have made up on Shane since is neutralized with him not being a welterweight.)

The fact remains GBP were only prepared to pay Marquez 3-4 times less than what they paid Mosley

Yet Arum has to pay him the same as Mosley?

That is illogical and unreasonable based on the the numbers and circumstances involved in making both fights, and on Marquez and Mosley's own employers' payments to them.

****ing joke, the lot of you who still cling to these claims.

Based on those GBP numbers Marquez would be lucky to expect $1.5-2Million garaunted. Arum was prepared to give him what he got for the Mayweather fight. That should've been more than good enough.

GBP just don't want Marquez fighting if they aren't able to steal as much as they can from Arum and off Pacquiao's name. Marquez just stood by and let them kill the fight. Is it any wonder why Mosley, a GBP shareholder, had to leave them to get the fight?

Marquez priced himself out of the fight. Those are the facts and that is the truth.

marquez and mosley both knew for a fact that arum will not make a fight co-promoted with GBP. shane left GBP in order to make the pacquiao fight. Marquez didn't. if marquez really wanted the fight he should have done the same as mosley

They probably could have got it done had they been more realistic in their demands.

Obviously Mosley being a FA gave him a big advantage, with Bob preferring not having to deal at all with GBP. Berto offered to fight Pac for less ($3.5 million), that would've been a bigger risk as he is relatively unknown to the casual fan.

The Mosley fight was potentially the most lucrative and they will pay him less than what Marquez demanded. He was always the favorite since he left GBP to pursue the fight on his own, and Marquez's ridiculous demands sealed it.

I feel a bit for Marquez here. In reality he should be on great PPV money as he's a top top fighter who brings a decent very watchable style into the ring. However in his career he has been mismanaged (fighting John in a car park for 50k lol) and has been on the wrong end of a few close decisions.

He's a real fans fighter though.. to say you don't like Marquez is to say you don't like boxing.

Rather than going to the media to explain Marquez' offer, why not do it in private and make a counter offer?

Only with physical evidence would I ever believe a word out of Bob's mouth. Even him telling someone "I'm good" when they ask him how he is, requires physical proof.

So why not make a counter offer explaining the financial reasoning, rather than doing it in public in the media?

I personally believe that Marquez was never on the radar and Mosley was all but a done deal.

Those emails Bob refers to, would count as my "physical proof". Until released, I just can't believe Bob.

    To the TS

You just used logic and accurate reasoning in your post. That is not allowed in the GF forum.

Which makes a better fight for the fans and yes he does deserve a raise.
Margo & Clottey made good money and both fights were uncompetitive .

Are they afraid that Marquez will give Pac a better fight because Mosley will not its over for this clown ,he just doesn't have it anymore ,he's still riding high off of his win over Margo and still thinks he's got it .
You mean to tell me Arum & GBP can't afford to him 5 mil if they split it down the middle ....Pac doesn't want someone who's going to give him a good fight and beat his arse.

If Marquez had said ,i'll fight Pac at 147 for 500k Top Prank still wouldn't take the fight. first they said it would have to be at 147 and he agreed and now they say he's out pricing himself ...I say bull**** ...They don't want Floyd and they don't want Juan ,If you old and slow thats the way TOP PRANK GO.

Bob didnt want the fight regardless, it was never about the money, he didnt want JMM no matter what.

He told JMM they will consider a Pac fight if he beats Khan. That is so stupid, he isnt JMM's promoter he cant demand who JMM fights next. That is just annoying to me, Arum's arrogance. He has no intentions of that fight, he should just keep it real and say it outright instead of playing power games.

But he didn't ask for that, or the one million he said he'd fight Pac for when he confronted him in the Phillipines. He let GBP ask for a ridiculous amount on his behalf, which they just can not justify no matter what they say. If Arum never wanted the fight, then they played right into his hands with their offer.
