I wonder when this fight will be announced i.e. date, venue etc?

I would like to go to this after missing out on the last fight. I take it this will be in Vegas? Does anyone know when we might get an update on this?

ive no idea, but for a fight like this the earlier the better surely , i mean for aa vegas trip you have to make certain sacrafices , both on the money and the personal front

Exactly. I hear it is probably going to be in Vegas and the flights in March were very reasonable a few weeks ago, but it would be great if we can get a date confirmed asap so flights can be booked while they are still at a decent price.

Apparently, this fight has to take place in the US as the semi finals and final of the tourney were always going to be in the states at the behest of Showtime - which is fair enough - they made it happen.

The Vegas location is no more than talk though....

The other semi final Ward vs Abraham is in Vegas but not until May. Cannot see Froch and Johnson waiting that long. Perhaps New York or Atlantic City so the fans can get over.

I get a feeling we see it doubled with Amir Khan on April 16th because Khan vs Peterson is not a PPV event on its own. If that was the case we would of heard by now though.

Why wouldn't it be in Nottingham, Rob?

Part of the Super 6 contract. Both semi's and final have to be in the States.

This. The showtime and HBO viewing figures for delayed fights are dramatically lower.

The money for the semi's from Showtime is quite big Froch will be getting $1.5million from Showtime for Johnson plus whatever he makes from UK TV and sponsorship. Showtime might want to cut that fee if its not primetime in the US but he would make it up with the get from the nottingham gate (8,000 would make about 500k) and more money from UK TV.

Wouldn't shock me if we see it at 2am in Nottingham. Thats 9pm on the east coast.
