I remember when Ron Borges, for a period of a good few years, would find an excuse to put an insult in about Lewis in almost all his boxing articles whether it was related to the subject or not.

Still, at least he didn't come up with lame nicknames. Rafael is being pretty childish about all this, even if he's 100% correct about everything and I seriously doubt that.

I think it just makes you look juvenile. Be a professional.

 

I remember those too. The *******s just never knew of what to make of LL, he seemed to really hurt their pride. They only begrudgingly accept his great now.

Throughout history there's only really been one truly great heavyweight who's been over 240lbs and 6'4 and that was Lennox Lewis. No one as big has fought as skillfully.

 

Borges made more than a few suggestions about Lewis' sexuality. Mostly Borges is too fond of hyperbole and of defending American fighters.

But Rafael... that's shockingly impartial. Apparently his answer is "it's Haye's fault" to everything. Wlad's fighting an appalling opponent? Haye's fault. Wlad won't agree any concessions? Haye's fault. Wlad has put together the most tedious reign over the most average opposition in history? Haye's fault.

At least when Joe Louis was fighting a bum of the month he was knocking them out.

 

He prob didnt set ridculous rematch conditions either... Funny thing is, even if Haye never existed, Wlad hasn't exactly got a whole deal to brag about when looking at Boxing as a whole.... ten a penny mismatches, ridiculous fight terms, being rather dull in what is supposed to be the most exciting division in Boxing etc. Seriously though... Chisora?!? Someone who many people want to claim as an ATG..... taking on a prospect..

 

I'm not going to defend Haye's own silly behaviour in the past, although I've never thought his demands were horribly unfair. But I certainly won't defend Wlad's behaviour as if he's been provoked somehow! He's being a ****, end of story. And Chisora is an appalling fight for the heavyweight champion to face after criticising Haye for fighting Harrison.

How can Wlad criticise a fight for being boring?

 

One thing I've gotta say is, Wlad would destroy Haye. So he's pretty lucky he ain't fighting him.

Haye is nothing special, his belt means **** all. If Solis gets in shape he will spark Vitali, let's hope he takes this seriously and then we have someone to actually trouble Wlad. Haye has very little to beat Wlad with IMO.

 

Update: It looks like they are lining up Adamek in September for Wlad rather that face Haye.

Regardless of how you think the fight will turn out, you must acknowledge that Wlad's behaviour has been pretty poor. And Rafael's terrible bias against Haye is just pathetic?
